I owned this for all of two weeks before it died. I loved it when it did. Made blow drying my hair straight super simple. But after having it for two weeks and not even using it every day it died. I returned it and got another after being told it must be defective. A month after that the new one died and I wasn't able to return it. Overall a waste of time and money.

Let me start by saying I absolutely LOVE how this dryer works!!! BUT I'm shopping for my 3rd. The first 1 burned out in 1st use and I returned it. The 2nd lasted over a year, but would overheat every time. After use, I would hear it click. That was an internal fuse. It would always come back on later, until this last time. I am still going to get another one, until they are obsolete, or they make a better one. It works great on my long think hair.

I purchased this item some years ago when it first came out. I have short thick hair and would use it to dry and style my hair. It would totally straighten my hair which is the look I wanted. When my hair was longer, I would use on my dry hair to straighten and give it a shine. It finally gave out and I will be purchasing a new one. I went to the store and purchased a different brand wet/dry straightener but it did not work a fraction as good as this item.

This is the best style item I've found to help straighten and smooth my frizzy hair. I would've liked to have given it more stars--but this items does not last more than a few months. I have the same issue as others--the motor begins to slow and it has a burning smell.I've kept re-purchasing this through the years (because it's great at styling) and had to replace it over and over again. It's like it's a 'disposable' hair dryer. Too bad too. It works great at styling and smoothing but it simply breaks too soon....If you buy it, be prepared to buy a replacement in the near future. Conair needs to revamp this product so the unit doesn't fail after a few months.

I have tried two of these. As stated by other reviewers, it really does work. But my first dryer got a piece of hair stuck in it within the first few weeks. It started smoking and turning red and wouldn't run correctly. By the way, the button on the power cord that is supposed to pop and prevent the thing from burning up never actually popped. I returned it and got another one. I've had this one for a few months, having been extra careful to partition my hair up when drying to prevent hair from flying over the dryer. However, this morning, another piece of hair was sucked into the machine, and once again the motor won't run very quickly and the machine is smoking. Not sure if I can return it because it has been a few months but I'll try. I definitely won't buy this again.

I ADORED this product when I first bought it. I was so amazed at how well it worked. I even bought the larger one to go along with it for when I wanted to do all my hair, not just the fringies and bangs.Well, BOTH are back at the store now.My hair suddenly turned to unrepairable frizz. The unit started to buzz funny one day and took a chunk out of my hair.I can't even get my hair to style normally AT ALL now. My stylist told me that there are whole clumps missing out of my hair and I can see it for myself.I'm not stupid about styling my hair. I use proper protective products and follow exact directions.This item is like a "one night stand"... starry eyed about it for a few weeks until it fries your proverbial buns (hair) and you'll regret you ever turned it on.Unfortunately, I rated it quite highly in other web sites and I can't even track them all down to express apologies.My beautiful long curly hair is now shoulder length and falls quite 'weirdly" even after two repair haircuts and oodles of conditioning.Buyer beware! This happened to my hair literally overnight.

I have ultra-fine naturally wavey hair that I wear short & layered. I have been trying to grow it out to one length but it has been very difficult, my hair looks messy and frizzy and I end up getting it cut again out of frustration. THAT WAS UNTIL I BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT. It is amazing. My hair is smooth & shiny. I is really simple to use, on wet or dry hair. I actually look forward to styling my hair.

I bought this because I got a really bad haircut that could only be worn straight. I don't like the look my hair gets when I use a straightening iron (It's too severe and feels damaged...i have one of those [...] plus irons.) Anyway, it took me a couple of uses to get the hang of this, but it's perfect for what I want. I like a natural, bouncy straight, not a flat straight. I get much better results when I section my hair. Well worth the money! I feel like if it can make my hair straight and ke ep it straight in humid Texas, then it's worth it. My mom's ordering one today!

ok- so let me start off saying that this product does do an excellent job styling hair- however, i bought it the first time and it worked amazingly for the first few times. one time, a piece of my hair got stuck in the air vent, and the blower went completely dead. no air would flow out, and a burning smell came out of it, along with a red fire burning in the inside of the blower, so i returned it to cvs and got a new on. and lo and behold, i used the second one one time, and the same problem h appened. a hair blower should not break twice after a small piece of hair gets stuck inside of the blower.. they are made VERY cheaply, and if this problem will happen, they should have a guard to protect the air vent,as it is not possible to keep every piece of hair away from the vent. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY...IT BREAKS REALLLY EASILY AND YOU WILL CONSTANTLY BE HAVING TO GET NEW ONES!!!!

I saw this in several stores and it peaked my interest because it doesn't look like anything else I've used over the years (dryers, huge curling irons and straighteners). When the price dropped at Target I purchased it, but was skeptical and kept the packaging and receipt. I needn't have. This thing is amazing! It takes a bout 5 minutes to straighten my shoulder length DRY hair. I agree with a few previous reviews - if used on wet hair it just makes it bushy and brittle looking. BUT, when used on very dry hair (I wash mine at night and style dry in morning) it is nothing short of miraculous. Quick, easy and leaves a nice shine. I finish it with a glossing oil and am done. Why couldn't this have been around years ago?!!
