I was not as brave the first week, but now do the same...just throw it in my bag and it frees up a hand. It has never leaked! I lvoe this thing. ather's Day. Well worth the [$] for a product this great. The stainless cleans well.. I usually let my top soak a bit as you cannot really clean inside the top too much.
My Fainc and I bought these mugs a few months ago and LOVE them. I was wanting a travel mug that will keep my coffee hot as I travel from class to class in the cold weather (I hate cold coffee). Also I was wanting a mug that wouldn't spill in my backpack and ruin my books/computer. I love it so much that I put the water bottle version on our clubwedd registry. I brag about it constantly!
After months of struggling with leaky travel mugs I have finally found this one. It is so wonderful not to have tea spilling over your fingers while walking to the bus! You can literally turn it up-side down and not a single drop will come out. My tea stays hot for a long time and in fact, I usually let it cool a little before closing so that I will be able to drink it. I do agree that the top is slightly difficult to clean but not impossible...I just press the button and let water run through.

LOVE these mugs! This is the 3rd one we have purchased. Keeps beverages very hot or very cold for quite a while, but the best part is the spout. When you push the button a nice flow of beverage comes your way. I've been told from my kids that you can even chug drinks from these mugs! And if they get tipped or dropped, they don't leak. Yeah.Like sippy cups for adults.
I just purchase this mug, it's spill proof I already introduce it to some of my friends, infact if you invite me to advertise this mug I will do more than you expect, i can tell the whole world that this mug is too good, just go to target and get yours then you will know what I'm talking about. i fill this mug with water and turn it upside down there is no drop come out of it. not talking about the cold or hot water you put in it, just don't miss it.
I was looking for a mug that could keep my drinks cold for a while, I came across this one @ Target one day but couldn't stand paying the .... for it. After a month of searching I gave up and went to Target for this cup. Boy I should of just forked out the money when I first saw it! It is great! Let me start by saying I am almost NEVER home. And as a student, intern, and waitress, I need my coffee. After going through a string of mugs, I decided to shell out the money for this one. I also want to stress that I have had this for about a year now- I hate reviews from people who bought something an hour ago. After a year of almost daily use, this thing is still perfect!I have tested the heat/cool times on this mug- I have had 'drinkably' hot coffee four hours after brewing and have still
had ice cubes in the mug 11 hours after putting them in. I even use it at home to keep my backup coffee hot- the lid pours coffee perfectly!As far as leaking- I have thrown this in my bag while riding the subway- not a drop has ever spilled! Finally- I have always found this easy to clean. The lid does have cracks and crevices, but if you swish some soap and water in it, you should be fine! I only drink black coffee, so I don't know how clean it will stay if milk/sugar get inside. I also like that you can get replacement lids online, although I doubt this one will ever break.Overall, a GREAT purchase for anyone on the go who loves their coffee!UPDATE: I am now at about a year and a half with this thing- still love it! I have pretty much switched over to tea since graduating- it still keeps it piping hot! I did notice the lid seemed to be leaking the other day-- I realized there was a lot of built up tea residue inside. I submerged the lid in hot water with plenty of baking soda, then rinsed well- good as new!

I have had the auto seal mugs since they first came out. Beware: the auto seal eventually breaks, and hot tea spilled all over me in bed! I had bought 8 mugs in total, since I have five children. Most of the seals now have broken in the last few weeks. I tried to find out if I can get the lid replaced, and indeed they have a website with replacement lids at $.... each. They have many colors to choose from, but they are out of stock on every lid!!! That says one thing.....the lids do not last lo
ng!!!! I figure I could spend $..... a year on replacememt lids, if I could get them. What a racquet!! I hope Contigo gets some good competition soon....like a company with a lid that lasts longer, and has a better replacement program. I do not expect it to last forever, but, a more reasonable price for a lid, and better customer service, as they have no real person to voice a complaint to.
