I've had this cute little guy since November 2010. I bought him new off amazon. He is in my sons room, who is now 22 months old. I use this thing CONSTANTLY, i mean every single night, and i usually forget to turn it off in the day at least 3x a week... and i have it up to about three-quarters power and it runs for days on end. I bought this November 5th, 2010 and he has lasted through a move, a LONG fall off a dresser .He cracked and i have him duct taped together on the base lol, and he doe sn't seem to mind! LOTS of steam pours out of his little beak at three-quarters, and i get worried that full blast would be too much! I literally cant hear a thing coming out of him, even now after using the thing so much. I just recently bought a different mfg one off amazon for my room, and i just filled out a return slip for them because i am sending it back to get the penguin again!!

We bought this for our infant's room, but every day when I go to clean it, the spring that allows the water to come out of the tank and through the chute for the vapor leaves NASTY stains. The water is mildew orange/red and rusty. I clean this every single day, and there is nothing I can do to get rid of this. Plus, the tank is impossible to wipe down and vinegar is just not doing the trick. I am going to return asap.

A fixture in my living room, this guy gets compliments all the time. it's not the easiest to fill up and after a couple of years in going strong but with some minor leakage. Not bad for a cool air humidifier.

This unit was purchased to up the humidity in our home, not for a child's room. No more static shocks in winter. I'm sure there will be health benefits as well. It pumps out some serious vapor and is so quiet you don't know it's running. Functional, easy to clean, portable...everything we were looking for at a reasonable price. Very cute too. We love it!

We started buying these about 5 years ago. They used to be very quiet and would last 2 or 3 years. You need to put bacteriostat in the water so mold and other bacteria does not grow in this or any ultrasonic unit. About a year or so ago they changed the internals and the switch. That's when the unit got noisier and noisier over a month or so and would stop working withing one year. Will not buy ever again.

We bought this for our daughter and it works really well. One BIG problem, it grows bacteria inside and it is impossible to clean. We have tried everything to clean the inside of the unit to no avail. I would not recommend this product unfortunately.

I bought this item at the beginning of October and I thought that it was adorable and functional. I bought the filter for it so that it would last longer. I did everything by the book as far as care and cleaning and by the end of October, the thing wasn't working consistently. It would work for a few mins then the red light would come on. I would walk across the room and it would work again. I cleaned the floater. It temporarily got better, then the fan started being VERY loud. And to top it al l off, I had to run it on HIGH to get ANY steam to come out. It's absolutely not worth the money. After reading reviews, a lot of people have had this same problem. Don't waste you're money.

I got this for my 3 months old son since he began getting stuffy due to our forced hot air heating system. Since getting this cute humidifier, my son has begun breathing & sleeping better. Very easy to clean and fill; easy to carry. Only have to refill every couple of days which is convenient and enables me to keep it clean. Just an excellent product overall!

I read several reviews before i made a decision on which animal to purchase. In the past I have owned loud, dampen the room, and obnoxious humidifiers. This is by far the absolute best humidifier and worth the money...ten fold! No mess no worries! I leave this humidifier on all night and have the control turned halfway up...in the morning not even half the tank is empty. I clean the unit twice a week with a half a tank of water and one teaspoon of bleach and let it air dry while my daughter is at school. I do not recommend putting the tank back on the base until you are finished walking around with it. This product is super easy to use and maintain. For the people having problems with some water or humidity on furniture...the vapor comes out perfectly when the unit is not placed near an a/c vent or when the ceiling fan is off. My daughter has always snored and had terrible sinus issues in the morning. Every winter she used to get colds and sinus infections. Since i have purchased this unit I am extremely happy to say that we made it through the winter with no more snoring, coughing, colds, or infections! Now that it is spring time I have tested the humidifier on high pollen days...three without using the humidifier and three with...every morning has been great when I use the unit the night before. This humidifier is a true blessing!

Design of this particular humidifier is not practical........maybe I was missing a piece. How do you hold the tank upside down and it won't leak? Can't put the cap on because that has an opening for the vapor. You need to be able to fill the tank with water and not have to move the thing away to is final location because as you are walking the water starts to drip out. The tank does not fit securely to the base........I could go on with this one........Don't waste your time or money!
