I wasn't impressed. It took forever. It's large and bulky. The crayons it makes are just little stubs. I would much rather do it in the microwave/oven like we did as kids.

My kids were SO excited to get this for Christmas, okay, so was I. It does make some cool crayons but I didn't realize that they were going to be mini crayons. Slight downside but we'll get over it! The tray is slightly hard to clean - the instructions say to clean it when the wax is warm but by the time the lid unlocks the wax isn't necessarily "warm" anymore. Overall, it's cool and the kids love breaking their old crayons to create new ones.

Most people say this is "A piece of junk" because they don't have the patients to wait 25min for 4 crayons. It takes time to melt wax anyone knows that, it helps kids learn the patients skill! To clean it up you just take a warm washcloth an wipe the wax off the melting trays, it is just that simple. I love crayons and had alot of old broken ones so...I just put them in and got all new crayons again! I do think Crayola should have made the crayons normal size but with the two differn' t 1in crayons put together you get a nice size! I hope this helps you make a dicision!

We purchased this for our daughter for Christmas. It was what she really wanted.......what a shame. It takes forever to make a crayon. oh, by the way ours did not even come with the light bulb needed to heat the unit, to melt crayons...so we had to go out and buy bulbs. After you finally get a couple crayons made... it is a nightmare to clean. I would not reccommend this to anyone. I am very dissappointed in CRAYOLA....terrible product.

I felt compelled to write this as I want to save any other family the time we spent making four one inch crayons. It takes minimally 25 minutes to make four crayons. They are not even the size of a regular crayon. You have to put two together in a plastic holder to make one crayon. That's if you do it right the first time! Ours wasn't working so great, so the first crayons took about an hour. Crayola makes all the great products like a marker that can only write on paper! Hopefully, this isn't the technology they use at their factories! This product is the worst toy we have ever purchased by far...
