I purchased this radiator because my bedroom was frigid cold. I turned the meter onto 4 and left the room for 4 hours and came back in when I felt how much warmer it was. Although, I noticed an unusual smell, like oil or wood buring, I noticed it came from the radiator, which is the only downside to this. Otherwise, I love this little thing.

About 8 hrs/day usage since about 02/06/10 Worked great, loved the timer, also the wheels being on the corners, my feeble dog could not tip it over Today all of a sudden it blew a tiny hole in the side and spewed oil into the air and over the furniture and oil pooled under it, into the rug. cleanup nightmare (like trying to get salad dressing or veggie oil cleaned up) Thank goodness Target has a great return policy and product guarantee but now no heat in the front of the house

I've owned this heater for two years now and it is great and economical. Wished I had bought two when I did seeing the current price. It still runs great...like new. I own other smaller delonghi hears as well without the timer and will continue to buy them. One problem. They don't seem to wear out or break down. Dependable little fellows aren't they.

After wasting money on smaller, less expensive heaters, my husband and I splurged and bought this one. It was worth every penny that we paid and easily heated our 12x13 bedroom. Our home is 130+ years old with original windows, no insulation in the walls and no other form of heat at the moment, (the furnace went out). Even with air leaks everywhere, this heater has worked phenomenally. Most of the time we can't have it on its highest setting because it will burn us out of the room. We purchased a smaller heater, of the same brand, for the bedroom and put this one in the downstairs foyer (our house's coldest and draftiest spot), and while it didn't make the room roasty toasty, it did significantly warm the downstairs entryway, the staircase and the upstairs foyer above the staircase. A great buy if you're looking for a radiator heater.

The DeLonghi Dragon Safe Heat is the best Oil-filled radiator heater that I have ever owned. Before I bought this heater I was using two older oil-filled radiator heaters to heat. while still economical compared to the propane heat installed in my home, they were costing me quite a bit. After we had a 3 week spell where we didn't see 25 degrees and my electric bill went over $200, I had to do something. I found this heater. The DeLonghi safe heat has the extra covering over the baffles and this makes it different from other oil-filled heaters. They create a chimney effect that sends warm air forced through the top, almost like a blower. You actually can feel the concentrated heat. Also, it only takes this heater a matter of an hour or so to reach peak heat. That is great for an oil-filled heater. For anyone shopping for a heater...an oil filled heater will save you money. It is different, however than a regular space heater. It is not meant to be turned on and off and for great blasts of heat. It is meant for regular steady heating. Once you turn it on it should stay on for the season. If it gets a little warmer simply turn it down to the lowest setting until it gets colder again. You need to keep the oil warm or it will take a few hours to get warm again and heat properly. I believe this is why so many people are so unhappy with oil-filled heaters. They just don't understand how they work. Oh, by the way....that huge electric bill.....I use only 1 heater now for the entire space..this one. I run it full blast all the time and my highest electric bill has been $112. To compare, my summer bill runs around $60. Sure, I have a small house..but I can live with the savings.
