After having this vacuum for just a couple of months the roller bar broke. I have only used it for light cleaning and the belt has broken numerous times. After spending thirty dollars to replace the roller bar the vacuum still doesn't work. It is not good for pet hair, very noisy, and hard to push. I'm going to give up and get a new vacuum after just a year. Don't waste your money.
Bought this vacuum recently. C.R. ratings were good! Bought it because it is HEPA bagless which should have helped my wife's allergy issues.
It does a great job of picking up and confining the dirt in the see-through dirt canister.HOWEVER, they designed it to blow a wind tunnel of air out the exhaust tube located 3 feet off the floor on the front of the unit. OF COURSE IT IS LIKE USING MY LEAF BLOWER IN THE HOUSE..It stirs up all the dust in the room while you vacuum.

This Dirt Devil vac is the best vacuum i have owned.
It has great power and is very light compared to all previous ones i had.
From other reviews stating dirt flying out all over the place, i did not experience that problem. Maybe they are not locking the center canister correctly or the bottom hose connector.
We have owned it for 2 years and runs nonstop in our house - 3 bedrooms, game room, living room, office, halls and 2 messy kids -it works GREAT.

Based on favorable Consumer Reports rating for this model I bought it as a gift my aging inlaws. They really like the light weight and maneuverability, and are happy with the overall performance.
A quick search at Consumers Report said this unit was great. Another quick Google search said that this unit was in stock at the local Target. So off we go, get the vacuum. Putting it together was a hassle. But once we did, oh my goodness! We were constantly having to stop and empty the dirt chamber. It was picking up so much cat and dog hair!
So I brought the unit down to Palm Springs on a trip. I ran the Kenmore Hepa on the carpets. Then I ran the Dirt Devil. It was amazing at all of the ani
mal hair it picked up.
I was so amazed by it, that I went to the local Target in Palm Springs and got a second unit.
We have had the units for almost a year now. The only thing that we have had to buy for them are replacement filters.
They are used at least once a day, sometimes 2 or 3 times, and not a problem with them has been encountered.
The only con to the unit is it is very LOUD. But I will gladly tolerate that for a clean carpet!

The only good thing about this vac is that Target allowed me to return it without any hassle which was much appreciated.
I bought this because it had good reviews, was light weight and a great price. I was skeptical but WOW! It works a ton better than my Bissel Pet Hair Eraser that was about 5 times the price! We needed a vacuum that we could easily carry up and down 2 flights of stairs and this is perfect. I was very amazed with how fast it filled up the cannister, even after I vacuumed with the Bissel first! It filled up the cannister in about 5 minutes over a small 10 by 12 foot space. here was in the carpet left behind by the Bissel. I have only used it once so I can't comment on the longevity of it...hope it lasts! I would buy a new one every 2 years if I had to! Picks up everything!
This vacuum is the biggest piece of junk I have ever used. It seems to have a lot of power but it throws back out all of the dust, dirt, and hair it just picked up! I'm taking the vaccum back tomorrow to get a different one. I know for [$] I shouldn't have expected much but after reading all the rave reviews on Target's website I thought maybe I was getting a great vaccum at a great price. Wrong!
