This was the most amazing little vacuum for my hardwood floors... I actually squeeled with excitement when i realized i didnt have to sweep anymore or break out the huge vacuum...best thing ever?? umm, maybe, but the burning smell was out of control!! I dont know if i should take it back and get a new one or if this happens to all of them. anyone else have this problem?? btw, i took out the little filter and emptied all the dust a few times in hopes that it would come back to life!

Don't be fooled - this vac is not the most powerful vac you've ever had, but for the price, you can't beat it for doing little jobs. I use it on my tiled kitchen floor all the time to pick up little spills. Works fine on rugs. Doesn't really work well on my carpets, but that's not what I bought it for so that doesn't affect my review of it. The only disappointment I've had is I've tried to use it to vac my car and it's not effective for that job.

I love this stick vacuum for my hard floors. It has some power to it which worked better than my more expensive stick vacuum, which I got rid of. This vacuum is also very light and easy to assemble.

i thought dirt devils were good!? this had no power in the vacuum sense. after about a minute i smelled burning and saw sparks. really, dirt devil. well, it was easy to assemble. that is it.

I was fortunate enough to purchase this vacuum when it was on sale for [$$]. I've owned stick vacuums for years as I don't care for carpet in the house. It is light, powerful and can easily get under the furniture because of its design. I also like the fact that there are two large wheels at approximately 2 inches each as well as the smaller rollers on the underside of the sweeper. The two larger wheels help to propel the sweeper, so I am rolling it along instead of pushing it. It also has a longer cord than most sweepers and is high enough for those of us who are tall to use it.

I bought this in 2010 and it still works perfectly when i opened it it was an easy assemble as most say it needs a longer cord i agree and more suction it is realy good sucked up leeves dog and cat hair dust dirt alot realy but i would prefer something a little more expencive

This may not look much at first, but it turned out to be the best cleaning product purchase for me for a long time. So light and easy to use, and so powerful and sucked everything off the floor - even my long hair. I ended up buying 2, one for each floor.

I got the DD Versa after owning the Bissel for a year. They were purchased on Black Fridays making them fantastic deals. Use- hardwood and loop wool rug on my first floor and we have 2 young kids. Does NOT work well on regular cut pile carpet. Detach head and use hand vac opening to vacuum larger things like popcorn. Similar features- cord length and suction. Bissell pros- longer handle. I am 5'2" and have to stoop with the DD. Bissell cons- handle kept falling out of clip and then fin ally head kept falling off. DD pros- handle clips in and and has crevice tool holder. DD's head also does not clip in so it may keep falling out over time
