I've had it for over a year now and I am still very pleased with it. I am a cat owner and I have a girlfriend that is allergic to cats. I constantly have to keep my place allergen free and the Dyson was perfect for that. PROS - Bagless - Closed filtration system - Washable filters - Easy to turn CONS - The hose - As soon as I stretch it a little it would start dragging the rest of the unit. I think this only applies to earlier batch of the ball because I bought another unit for parents a y ear later and the hose was fine. - Heavy - Girlfriend finds it heavy. I was okay with it. The good thing is it has low center of gravity - Not so good for hardwood - See solution below RECOMMENDS Hardwood floor accessory - Sold seperately - This is a must if you have hardwood floor. Its essentially a large brush that is close to the ground that creates the nice seal you need to vacuum hardwood floors. It works very well. The only draw back is the price.

I've owned my Dyson for 2.5 years now. After losing suction on [$] about 1 per year, we finally bit the bullet and paid more for a better vacuum. We have a 3 story house with hardwood, area rugs, carpeted stairs, and wall to wall carpet. I love the compact size and light weight to carry up and down the stairs, how easy it is to steer around furniture, and after 2.5 years it's still working great! We did have one issue with the brush after 2 years, but one call to Dyson customer support and no questions asked and no charge, they sent us the replacement parts within 10 days. A few of the cons of this vacuum - the cord length is a bit too short. It's a great multi-surface vacuum, but not great for a full carpeted house Doesn't pull all of the dirt out, but does great on the dog and cat hair and surface junk. The hand tools are difficult to use on high ledges 2.5 feet and higher because of the hose, but works great for vacuuming curtains and baseboards, etc.

I was impressed with this well engineered vacuum, You can see that thought went into this product. It easily moves about in a way no other vacuum works. Allows you to turn off the brush when on bare floors. Innovative detachable reverse-able wand allows for extended cleaning in hard to reach areas. If your an apartment dweller the DC24 is compact and folds down to a small size. Out of the box it assembles with 4 snap together parts. Takes 5 minutes but you have to look at the assembly instruct ions. The DC24 produced less noise than most Vacuum cleaners, its ability to capture and entrap dust was amazing. "It would be nice if the extended reach hose had another foot".

I bought this as a gift for my Mom and she cannot stop raving about how great it is. We have a pug that sheds a ton and this badboy picked up everything with ease. The ball makes it easy to maneuver around tight corners and clean up is a breeze. I know Dyson's are a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for

After all the hype, I broke down and bought a Dyson. It was awful. It barely picked up any of my dirt and dust. I found the machine awkward and difficult to maneuver. I then returned the vacuum to the store ([...] bought a [...] (for half the price of the Dyson). It's amazing. I saved the dirt from the Dyson and then the dirt from the [...] AFTER already vacuumed with the Dyson. The results were unbelievable. The [...] pile of dirt/dust was at least triple what I collected from the Dyson. I typ ically don't write reviews, but wanted you to save your money and trouble on returning this very over-rated vacuum cleaner.

Well I researched a lot before buying the Dyson. I have had it 2 weeks and I look forward to vacuuming! It really gets the floors clean. It is so light and easy to use. I thought the extension pole was longer, but I confused it with the 25. It is very easy to empty the canister. The sweeper I had before was a big Kenmore canister vacuum. This vacuum is much more user friendly and definitely has more suction.

Yes, it is small, really small. In my world, that's less to store when not in use. It is light, and so much quieter than any vacuum I've ever owned. The suction on the hose is amazing.It actually works on bare floors. My previous vacuum was supposed to, but it just blew stuff around. This one sucks them up from far away. I love that it is great for allergy/asthma sufferers - I have a house full of them. It was a little pricey, but I've been buying cheap vacuums that I have to replace every year , and this one comes with a 5 year parts/labor warranty. I vacuum every day and have had this for about a week. It's the best thing I've bought in a long, long time.I am slightly disappointed the cord isn't longer, but that's nothing an extension cord can't fix.

This is our first Dyson. I was concerned with how small it was, but it surprised us in every way. It's lighter, quieter, smaller, but has far better suction than any of our previous vacuum cleaners! Cord is a bit short as other reviews have mentioned, fortunately our architect was savvy enough to put electrical outlets in each room of our house ;)

I will have to go over things like 3 or 4 times to get the vacum to suck them up. Little things to, like a feather or cat hair. I plan on taking this model back and getting the larger model. I really like everything else about the dyson. I just need more strength and power when it comes to the suction
