This thermometer works quickly but has some consistency issues. If you don't use it just right it combines the air temperature with the forehead temperature. I like this thermometer and would recommemnd it for someone who needs fast and accurate temperatures.

I bought this in the store while the manufacturer had a rebate going on. I tried it on myself after the readings were all over the board place with the kids. Total garbage. Not at all reliable. It went back to the store the next day.

We just bought this a few months ago right in the middle of cold/flu season, and it works great. We love it not only for our kids, but also for ourselves. It's quick, and I love that you just run in across the forehead to the temple and you're done. I can take my kids' temps while they're sleeping without disturbing them. Wonderful!

Tried to use this on my son with 3 different scans in one minute. It gave me a 1.6 degree swing on the readouts- and that can be [...] dangerous. I then tested it all over my forehead as being a former medic I like to have a test control reading and it gave me a 2.2 degree swing. Exergen should have just put a dartboard in the [...] box, it would be more accurate.

I love this thermometer! It is so easy to use and makes it so simple to take my daughter's temperature even while she's sleeping. I have recommended this item to so many of my soon-to-be mom friends.

I was so fed up with my old thermometer that I got from the hospital when my daughter was born. It took about two minutes for it to climb to the correct temperature. I had heard these temporal thermometers were the best way to go, so I thought I'd cough up the extra money. It is just important to know what your child's temperature is when you suspect he or she is sick! Well I was very disappointed as soon as I used it the first time. I used it on myself just to test it first, and it told me I h ad a temperature of 99.9 degrees. I knew for a fact that my temp was not that high. The slightest change in my temperature and I know right away. I took it again, and it said 97.2. Well I scanned my daughter just to see what it said. again, it read different temperatures every time. This was NOT worth the money I paid for it and will return it. I am just not looking forward to seeing how much a thermometer costs that actually works if this one was [$]. Ridiculous.

I hate spending money on things that have cheaper alternatives but this I felt was a MUST! After a trip to the ER and seeing they use forehead scanners I knew what I wanted for my baby. This is one of my favorite things. It is so quick and easy to use and it doesn't disturb my little one, Unlike the ear versions which I am told to not use until she's 2 due to potential hearing damage. or the slow and annoying armpit, and I won't even consider putting anything near my babys rump. If you're on th e fence about this BUY IT!

Works great!

We love this thermometer. Took us a few times to figure it out but once we did, we wouldn't go back to any other kind. You have to maintain constant skin contact and take your time going across the baby's forehead in order for the reading to be accurate, but as long as you do that, you can't go wrong. It is a little expensive but for the ease of using it on a sleeping cranky sick baby, you can't really put a price on that.
