Coffee perk'd on the stove is flat out the best tasting coffee. The smell, the taste... the best. The only thing that i dont like about this coffee maker is that the brew basket that holds the grinds is not large enough for the amount of water that this can hold. I like a strong cup of coffee and i get the coffee for this ground correctly which is french press and even if i fill the holder up, i can never brew 8 cups because the coffee will taste watered down. Otherwise, if you like strong co ffee like me, dont go past 6 cups and you will be ok. Of course you have to remember to watch the pot because water evaporates rapidly so be careful.

I gave this pot a try after reading all the reviews. I agree with most of them as this perculator is made out of stainless steel. It's very classy looking. I especially like the interior, which is very easy to clean. I tried another brand, now returned, because its a little smaller and brush stainless. The inside of the other pot has a rough texture that I can tell will retain the coffee stain over time. I was pleasantly surprise that this pot's interior is smooth. The only one draw back is the curve on the top rim which retains a few drop of water, but I can live with that. The entire order online to having fresh perculated coffee experience was very smooth...just like my coffee.

Love this stovetop pot. I removed the basket and I am using it to warm my water for instant coffee, tea, and instant oatmeal. I like the compact shape over most tea kettles. The percoating pot let's me know when the water is very hot.

bought this & a Kitchen Selectives hot plate for my tool box at work. what a great combo. that is how a cup of coffee is supposed to taste like. the simple, "old school" things have been provin to be the best here lately. no filters to buy, no fancy machines to mess with. just good ol coffee. love to watch it perk in the sight glass. brings back kid days when my parents would make theirs. only 2 things would make it mo better. a glass sight glass & if were made in the good ol U.S. of A

After several years of drinking coffee from an electric drip, my husband and I decided that we needed a change. I searched many stores and found this pot to be just what we were looking for. The taste of the coffee is clean and the pot brews the perfect cup. This is a much better way to prepare coffee than an electric drip. It's also easy to store and does not take up too much room or counter space, as my old drip maker did.

Big improvement on the width at the bottom. Somewhat disappointed that there is already a leak on the black ring on the top of the lid...Have used less than 1 week.

'Cup" markings inside the pot are hard to see, they should be stamped not etched. Unit is a little difficult to clean due to the top lip that curves to the inside . There should be a better spout. Coffee is not directed well to the spout due to, no 'valley' at the spout opening, inside. Be sure to use proper 'grind' of coffee. Fine grind leaves lots of residue in the bottom of pot and in your cup. Overall, a nice unit.

I had purchased this for my Father in law for his birthday. He loves it and uses it on his boat that has a cabin with a small stove. He plans on traveling down the Chesapeake Bay this summer and taking it with him to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee!

I knew there was something missing from my automatic brewer. Yea, flavor. The standard drip models do not get water hot enough to make a good hearty brewed flavor. I kept adding more grounds=$$$$. Not only that but the life expectancy on the drip models is only a few years and the heating element seems to work less. A percolator boils the water=hot water going thru the grounds after they are fully saturated. Even the cheap store brand coffee tastes great. We even take this out on the boat. Afte r being so disappointed that we couldn't find a coffee shop anywhere on the CT river, we tryed this on the grill. It takes a while but works great. I will probably order a separate pot just for the boat. My auto drip is packed away now. I have more space on my counter and my morning java experience is greatly improved. Dishwasher safe-BONUS!! Even my husband, who was a true skeptic, loves it!! BEWARE: contents are definitely hot!!!
