My 4 year old absolutely loves this toy. He even puts the slides in and shows the bugs to my 1 1/2 year old and they stay busy together. He can play with this by himself independently. Compact and stores easily as well.

I ordered this for my nephews for Christmas. I placed the order right after Thanksgiving. [...] when I got it, the A,B,C buttons didn't work so the toy was worthless. I contacted customer service and they said that a replacement wouldn't reach me in time for my "event." I am very disappointed with the product and Target's service.

My son received this as a gift when he was 4 1/2, and has played with it ever since, he's now 6 1/2. The slides are of bugs and very cool. The microscope asks questions and you respond by pushing the A, B or C buttons. It's a sturdy toy and does not topple over. Maybe the previous reviewer had a bad one. This toy has been out for several years now, it doesn't seem like a short term toy.

Buttons broke after one week. My son is so upset and disappointed.
