I chose this item off my nephew & niece in laws wedding list. I just spoke to her yesterday and she really loves the scoop and strain colander by Giada De Laurentiis. She told me she was about to go and buy it because they didn't get it as a gift, but then it arrived from me. Aunt Carol really made a good choice when I ordered this item for their wedding gift!!

I love this. It is perfect for scooping out things in big pots that need strained or just straing something small. Its very sturdy and I love the stainless steel. I am not sure why the other person even rated this if they are not using it for it's intended use. If you want a fish net go to hunting store. Dont bash on a kitchen tool. I thought it was ginormous when I got it. I recieved it as a wedding gift that I registered for and highly recommend it. Do not let the other review scare you. It i s BIG.

This is a nice strainer, but much smaller than the advertised size. It would probably be great for pots, but we wanted them for a pond study program at our nature center
