This product is an expensive piece of useless garbage. The blades are set too low and don't evenly cut up food. I could mash food easier with a fork. I was grating bread for breadcrumbs and the black plastic piece on the grater wheel broke. It was the first time i've used it. The knob is hard to get a grip on and turn, especially if your hands are a little wet.

I got this food processor as a wedding gift and have used it several times in the past couple of months with no problems. I've used it to chop nuts, vegetables, and even used the shredder blades to shred soap to make my own handsoap. It struggled a bit on cutting soap but I believe it was from the slickness of the soap. Otherwise, the motor is strong and the blades are very sharp. I would know, I cut myself washing it the first time. They hold up fine to handwashing, but I wash most of my appli ances by hand since my dishwasher is old.

I have had so many food processors die during the simplest tasks. The Giada Food Processor is the exact opposite. It grinds bran cereal into perfect breadcrumbs for diet recipes, mixes salmon into a smooth paste, and makes the task of making turkey meatloaf into one of ease, not mess. It is easy to clean, and its compact size make it fit into my small apartment kitchen with ease and style. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Right out of the box first time used the black plastic center piece snapped off of the fine shredding disc. I am not happy at all with this product.

I purchased this food processor about a year ago because it was slightly cheaper than the kitchenaid mixer and I thought Giada products would offer quality because she is very thorough. I was wrong. The processor does not process very well and it always gives off an awful burning smell. I would not recommend.

Just picked one up recently on [...] and it has been a tank. I ran it on high for 20 minutes straight the first night because I had it to make coconut butter - my previous food processor had died with the same task - and everything turned out beautifully. To address some of the other reviewers' comments - the directions rather explicitly note that it can never be used with soft mozzarella and that the cheese must be cooled substantially before you ever attempt to shred it. While I cannot comm ent on this particular item as I never have and never intend to put any part of it in a dishwasher, I've had many friends ruin my own 'dishwasher safe' plasticware with hot cycles and drying cycles. Just points to consider. In short, an excellent value for any budding chef on a shoestring budget.
