I started using kettle bells at a kettle bell gym last year so I am familiar with how to use them, it probably took a couple weeks of workouts to get all the moves down and even month to really get the snatch perfected with constant pointers from the trainers. Kettle bells offer a great workout for strength and cardio, in a short amount of time you can get an extremely efficient workout. I thought the instructions in the dvd could leave a lot of room for error. If this is your first time make s ure to get the basic moves down, at the very least the swing because it's the one kettle bell move that is the basis for all others. The snatch will be the hardest to pick up...plan on sore/bruised forearms and sore hands. The workout on the dvd is tough, it's broken into 4 circuits with 3-5 minute workouts with 1 minute breaks in between then with a 3 minute break before abs. Trust me you'll need the breaks. It starts and ends with a stretch making for a total of 25 minutes. If you're serious about using kettle bells for a workout, I would suggest starting with a trainer who knows how to use them and can help you get started. I got this kettle bell to use at home for the days I don't go to the gym, quality is great and if I add more the color coding will be nice. If you're a woman and just starting you will probably want to get the 15 then move up to the 20.

The Kettle Bell workout kicked me right where I needed it! All over! It includes a workout DVD with easy to understand instructions. I was worried that my right shoulder would not be able to handle to workout as I had a bit of a frozen shoulder remaining but following the workout, my shoulder actually felt better! If you are just starting and are a woman (I'm 48) like me, I recommend starting at 10-15 pounds and working up to 20. I started with 10 pounds and in a couple of weeks felt I needed t he 15 pounds. For people who have a very small space to work out, this is great. I have a place open about 8'x10' and it works. Oh - and in the first week, I could see muscles definition I didn't see before! Well worth it!
