Purchased the foam roller about 3-4 wks ago and did so because my personal trainer recommended it. I'm a landscaper and I'm training to run my first 1/2 marathon and my ITbands are tight along with other muscles in my legs as well as my gluts & hips. This roller has made a world of difference in my running and in massaging my muscles before/after work. Would definitely recommend one if you are a runner!

I've spent the last year dealing with chronic knee and hip pain (same leg), doc visits, anti-inflammatory drugs, and working around my "trouble" spots at the gym. Yesterday I met with one of the trainers to discuss amping up my regimen, and when he heard I was a runner (before all this)he pulled out a foam roller, had me lie on my side, and roll it down the outside of my thigh. He made it look easy and I'm in pretty decent shape, so no biggie, right. WRONG! It felt like I was bruising my leg! He then explained why it felt that way and how using a foam roller would help work the knots out and lengthen the tight muscles that are contributing to (if not causing) my knee pain. Even though they sold them at my gym for the same price, he specifically recommended this brand at Target, because he wanted me to have the dvd. I used it last night and I'm sore this morning but willing to push through the discomfort if it brings relief. Great product--and way less expensive than doctors and meds!

I found this roller and DVD combo to be the perfect antidote to my mounting marathon training injuries. The DVD provides quick, easy to follow instruction to get started using a foam roller. I previously owned a larger, firmer roller and a companion book. Combined, they cost twice as much and did not provide practical instruction. 20 minutes with this DVD provided enough tips and examples to effectively use the roller and get some much needed relief.

Although this may not be as nice as some of the more expensive rollers with uneven surfaces, it gets the job done well for the price. Like others have said, it hurts so good! Using the roller feels like getting a massage without the expense or time commitment. After using the roller for a few weeks, I have recommended them to just about everyone I know. The video is actually terrific in my opinion, since it shows you what to do quickly. I only had to watch it twice to get the different leg stre tches memorized.

Great product. I to wish the video was a bit more. I tend to watch and pause, and then do so many reps. The foam roller has really helped massage my muscles. I am a runner and this has been great for me. It hurts to use, but feels wonderful afterwards.

It does hurt super bad but after you keep with it you loosen up and it doesn't hurt so much. I think this product is great and I think the DVD is helpful to learn all the exercises. I just wish the DVD had a routine you could follow. The DVD just shows you how to do the exercise once and then quickly moves on. I needed to press pause quite often.

I believe it is important to watch the video and do some on line research before you use this. My physical therapist recommended one for one specific stretch. I now use for everything I can. It's great, but you may be sore when you first start. Drink lots of water to wash the toxins out of your body and don't over do it.
