I receivedthis item the day after I ordered it, so I was off to a good start. However, that didn't last. Mine was defective and the floor unit didn't work, the attachments did, but not the floor unit. I called Hoover and they told me it must have a defective hose. I did get to clean my area rug using the attachment and wasn't that pleased. It gets points for being easy to put together and use ,if it works otherwise, the water isn't heated, which I would require in my next cleaner. Overal l, I don't think it was built very well and I would not buy again. I returned mine and will get the [brand name] next time.

This carpet cleaner is great, floors dry quickly and cleans as well as the expensive rentals, I highly reccomend it

I had always rented a [...]about once a year to do the whole house including our two cars. That was always a stressful day trying to get everything in one day. I searched the internet for the one with the best reviews and this Hoover stood out over all the others. The hoover is easy to use and gets the carpet as clean as the [...] did. Now we can do the house little by little whenever we want. Some of the plastic parts seem a bit delicate so we'll need to treat them with care. I'm glad we bough t it and would recommend it to anyone.

Carpet had not been cleaned in 10 years and this cleaner worked fabulous. Did not realize how dirty the carpet was until I used this cleaner.

After doing a lot of research on which carpet cleaner that I wanted to purchase, then trying to find it in stock somewhere, this was shipped to me. We should have rejected it because the box was beat up. That should have been the first sign. So we opened the box and knew right away it had been returned once before. Ignoring this we tried to put it together. The holes and screws did not line up. We could see the previous customer struggled due to the scratches, trying to force it together.After some frustration I called customer service. They were very nice and understood the situation. She walked me through the process on how to return it to the store directly if that is the way I wanted to go with and I did. The store did not give me any probllems at all which was great. Brought different Hoover model which did not pick up the water in the carpet. After getting it back from the repair shop it still did not work. Well I returned the second one without any problems.Glad to say I brought a Bissell ProHeat2 at Target and I Love IT! Thank you Target for your time and consideration. I will continue to use Target.com as well as the store.

Target delivered the product very quickly. The Hoover Steam Vac, F5914-900 removed a stain in the carpet on the first cleaning that [...] could not remove. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I believe this is my 4th carpet scrubber, and by far the easiest to use. It's heavy enough to allow the scrubbing brushes to do their job, but not so heavy that it's uncomfortable to push around. The tank for the cleaning solution is large enough and easy to remove and fill. The best part is the ease with which you can remove the 'dirty water' tank. No getting your fingers into the yucky liquid! the top of the container easily comes off and you can clean every nook and cranny of the tank.A VERY nice machine.

After reviewing and researching home carpet cleaners we decided on the Hoover Deep Cleaning Steamvac. It was easy to set up, easy to use and did a great job on the carpets. It didn't completely get some of the harder, deeper stains, but it got 95% and greatly reduced the harder/deeper stains. Great value for the money.

After doing a lot of research, I settled on this cleaner. Our carpet is light beige but was starting to look like a deep beige, almost brown in the traffic areas. We have 2 children always over under the age of 7 + a few older children who forget to take off their shoes on the carpet. I read a review somewhere before using it for the first time (may be on [...]) about how to properly assemble and to wait to hear a click when pressing the lever the first time. I did that just to be on the safe s ide. I have had absolutely no problem with getting the carpet clean. Also, I have been using a homemade cleaner with 1 cup white vinegar, 1 tsp baking soda, 2 tsp 7th generation dish detergent mixed in very hot (on stove) water. My gripes: 1. Assembly took me longer for some reason. The pics didn't make sense and the directions didn't help me too much. Usually I am pretty handy, but this one had me tripped for at least 30 minutes. 2. The water tank is quite small. For our living room, I need to refill and empty the dirty tank at least 2 times for a thorough cleaning. However, I am so impressed with how well this machine cleans that I have to give it 5 starts.

Owned for 2 months and used 4 times - cleaned one large room and spot cleaned on 3 other occasions. After the 4th use, brushes stopped spinning and water wouldn't stop flowing. Took to service center and was told the pump is fried and this wouldn't be the last time I'd be getting service for it.
