This game is great because it makes you develop a logical thinking.I like the vintage version because of the look of the rooms and characters.Having the "actual" weapons and moving them around is also entertaining especially for younger players!
Wow! I was at Target looking for Clue, they have this version and the Celebrity version. I wasn't impressed with the other one at all, as a matter of fact I was giving up and thinking about getting the Clue Classic from Amazon, When I spotted this one. I grabbed it off the shelf and played with my family (including a 6 year old who can read extremely well) tonight. We love it! The character cards are cute, (Not scary like the celebrity version), the rooms are clearly marked, everything has its
own place. The weapons are great quality, I only wish the characters are more realistic(like small statues in one version) but not complaining because these are like the originals. The wooden box is sturdy and everything fits so well. You can store it like a book on a shelf. Really, for [$] difference, I'd go for this one over the other version a hundred times. I'm now planning on collecting all of the box games. Our old faithful Monopoly is falling apart because of the cardboard box. I'd like to have the box version so we can keep it for a long, long time. It says Target only, and I'm really glad they have a whole line of these. Thumbs up!
We were so excited to see these classic's in a nice wooden box that can be displayed in our office / library bookcase. I can't count the number of games we have had over the years and eventually lost pieces from broken boxes or just neglect. [...] These games now have a designated area in our home and with the nice wooden box, nice board, and nice pieces it makes all of us want to take the extra time in taking care of this classic that will last forever in our home. We were willing to pay the l
ittle extra for the above reasons! We are thrilled with the quality of the game ... well worth it! Enjoy!!![...]
I bought part of this set and was collecting the rest as my kids grow up and for Christmas presents, etc. Now the box is terrible... just a box, not book like and doesn't go with the ones I have already. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! I really want the whole set, but only if they have rounded book like spines. Please change them back and then contact me... I will buy the whole set as soon as you do!
I got this at a Target store yesterday and have played it many times since. There are only two entirely plastic pieces: The rope and the holding tray, which is a nice surprise these days. It has the same styling as the 1963 Clue version (I'm not sure if it was really redesigned), so it also has nostalgic value as well.
When the last sentence in the description is: "This edition features a completely redesigned game board and cards." I am forced to wonder how "VINTAGE" this game can be. Somewhere out there is a Clue game in a wooden box with the original weapons, rooms and characters. If you want to be able to say "Professor Plum, in the library, with the lead pipe" instead of "Victor Plum, in the media room, with the trophy" (updated characters, rooms and weapons)this m
ay not be the game you're looking for.
