I have always been a Singer customer but my daughter was wanting a sewing machine for Christmas and I didn't want a full size machine for her but I did want a real machine and not a [$$] dollar piece of junk that doesn't work...I remember how frustrating those were when I was little. My daughter is 5 and LoVeS her machine!!! She is only allowed to use it with me but it is simple enough she can change the stitches by herself and guide it well. I love that it has reverse. I also love that it has a work light. The only 2 things I wish it included that it doesn't is an automatic needle threader and speed control. But, all in all, I am very satisfied with the purchase!

This new one-the first one was defective-proved flawless in it's performance right out of the box. I needed no adjustments to the top or bobbin tensions. It sews nicely balanced, strong stitches every time. I really like and enjoy using it. I could live without the flowers and Hello Kitty. But I cannot live without a sewing machine that is well built and very solid in construction. And does not go overboard with offering too many stitches that will probably never be used. I should know as I am a professional seamstress for many years. I sew for my own personal needs and gifts as well as for a small business I established for myself earlier this year.

Bought this machine last month and used it to sew a quilt. Kept making nasty noises but I found out at the fabric store they were due to a bent needle. So far it works great. I got a great deal but I'm a little sad that the price went so high just before Christmas. [$] would be way to much for this machine. Simple to use for adults and kids.

I bought this machine for my neice who is 10. She loves sewing and Hello Kitty, so it was a no brainer... This is not a good machine for a beginner. It doesn't run smoohtly, and sort of lurches and is hard to control the speed, It seems to jam alot for her, tension is hard to get right. I have been left wishing I had just gotten her a straight up machine for a little more. I have a baby loch and it would have been just the thing. EASY is what beginners need. This machine has been problematic t o say the least. NOT what you'd wish for someones introduction to sewing. 1 star for value, this machine is not worth the money.

I love this sewing machine. I used this to make Halloween costumes and they came out great! I love Hello Kitty and sewing so I adore it. It is a great machine. Love the color too!

As most of the other reviewers have said....this is one awesome little machine!! Within hours of unpacking it I had taken-in on the seams of 6 new tops I had purchased, w/out a problem. Sews like a dream. Just pay attention to the way you thread it and you will have no problems. Love, love, love it! Thanks Target for a great price on a great machine!

i love hello kitty and ive also been looking for a sewing machine and when i saw this one i fell in love with it!!!! I was a little hesitant at first to buy it because as much as i love hello kitty i also wanted a good professional sewing machine. After reading all the reviews and the fact that its a janome i decided to give it a try and i cant say enough how great of a machine it is!!!! Its just like a real professional machine except that it has hello kitty on it. Its heavy and sews like a dr eam! I did change the plastic bobbins for metal ones. Ive been sewing for years and this machine is great for beginners and advanced . dont think twice about ordering this machine!!!!

other than being cute this machine has nothing to offer. it only works when the bobbin is 100% full. after sewing for about 5 minutes the thread bunches up on the under side. also the bobbin winder quit working about 1 week after i purchased the machine

*Useful Tip: The sewing machine comes with a few bobbins but I had a hard time finding more [...] plastic bobbins. [...] plastic bobbins #6813 are the only ones (that I found) that fit in this machine. They sell them at [...] none of the [...] near by me carry them.---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- This is my first machine and it was easy to start learning how to sew. I bought this because I needed to hem a bout 6 pairs of pants, had to repair about 3 dresses, and replace zippers on my couch seat cushions. I didn't spend much money on my clothes and the couch was free, but paying someone to do the alterations would have cost me at least [$]. See where I'm going with this??? Yes, it took me about a day of playing around with the machine, practicing, and watching tutorials online... but I was able to do all the repairs myself! On top of that I bring it with me everywhere and am feeling inspired to become "sewy!" Why didn't I buy a machine sooner???Even my mother (who doesn't understand why Hello Kitty is on my sewing machine.) really likes the size of it and is thinking about replacing her old work horse machine with this same one. I may upgrade to a "serious" machine later... but for now, I definitely feel I got my moneys worth. Super cute and thank god it's not pink!

This Sewing Machine is Great. I tried it out before giving it to my daughter, and for her first sewing machine, it was Great. Easy to use and the adorable to have. its a "Must Buy"!!!!!
