Nice but with some flaws

The hammered design is unique and modern. They are a shiny metal and that makes them even more appealing, however there are some flaws. Due to the very square end on the handles, the ends are blunt and poke into the hand. They are not comfortable to hold and I would say the knife is probably the worst out of all. The weight on them is a bit off and it is easy to flip them out of a bowl or off a plate. I have not had any rusting issues but did notice something a bit strange. If they are left in my white cast iron sink, the flatware leaves a black mark in the exact shape of the utensil. My previous flatware did not do this so it does make me wonder what these are made of.

Cute but Rusts and Spoons Did Not Match

Knives are rusting after only a month of use, mostly between the teeth. I haven't noticed any rust on the other pieces... yet. When I opened up the box three teaspoons -aside from the one that was visible in the packaging- were a completely different pattern, they are smooth and don't have the hammered steel appearance at all. I'm asking for a second set for Christmas despite the rusting and mismatching because this is a cute set.

I'm going to buy a second set! As for the comments on rusting, on the box it says not to use lemon scent dish soap, so that could be the cause. I went out and bought regular scent and haven't had any of the rusting or dull problems. Everything seems weighted naturally to me, I don't feel awkward holding any of the pieces. I really recommend this unique set.

I bought two sets of these because I like the look, but I find after using them that they are strangely weighted and unbalanced causing them to fall off plates and out of bowls. At first I thought it was just me getting clumsy but others in my family have experienced the same thing.

Very nice.

I've had this set of flatware for 2 years. I've enjoyed the set very much, but the forks have become very dull over time. Other than that, they are a lovely weight and very durable. Overall wonderful value.

I got two sets of these as a wedding present and I really like the way they look and feel. I looked at some like it at another store and they were around $30 or $40 just for one setting. The reason I gave them three stars is because I have only been using them for about two weeks and I already have rusting on all of my knives. I am a clean/organization freak too so when I do dishes I make sure that I am sticking sharp knives in their a separate slot or hand washing them to ensure none of my fla tware will get dinged up. I expected them to last a little longer than one washing!

Mine Rusted Too - but really love them!

Absolutely love this flatware and had been looking for almost a year to find the perfect set. Bought 2 sets and used them for Thanksgiving dinner with lots of compliments. The the first time I washed them in the dishwasher, 4 knives rusted - so disappointed! I love them so much I haven't returned them - but I really should. I don't know why only the knives rusted, but I have some steak knives that I am substituting at this point. Good luck if you buy them.

Very Nice!!

We bought this flatware set after trying 2 other brands/styles. These had no rusting, were comfortable to hold, and look really good! This is the best set I have ever owned. I would buy these again! (...and I agree with the other review... if you "pitchfork" your food, I can see how these would jab you)

i think i got a slightly earlier version of this design; the knife handle on mine is straight, rather than curved. otherwise, set looks the same. i have a friend who is fairly knowledgeable about such things and she was shocked--as in impressed--when i showed her this and told her i got it at target and the price i paid. she said "you done good." they're very solid, comfortable, handsome, and functional. i've had them for two and a half years now and there's been no sign of rust...not sure what the individual complaining about rust managed to do to hers to make them rust on the first wash...probably left them sit in dampness or water too long. and as mentioned by another reviewer, these will fall off your plate if you leave them on it and carry the plate around, so just be careful. but that's not really a flaw in the product...just one of the hazards of carrying a plate with flatware on it.

Feels substantial and high end

This is a great set for the price. They do spot a little in the dishwasher since the set is very shiny, but it hasn't rusted at all and isn't an issue for me. Spots polish out easily. Mikasa makes a matching Hammered 5pc hostess set. I was upset to not have a matching serving set until I found that on another website. Since the match was almost perfect, I made the choice to buy the Burgone 20 pc flatware set and I am so glad I did.
