I purchased two of these for our home. I've had to return units a total of three times in less than 3 months because this feature has broken. I returned one yesterday for a refund, less than a month old. I will not try to purchase another one. Looking to purchase a different brand unit.

My son has Asthma and a poor immune system and gets flus and colds easily. We have pets in the home and he had no allergies as he had been previously tested, but recently he has showed a slight allergy to a cat that is in our home now. So I immediatly went and got 2 of these air purifiers. His symptoms have gone away with daily vaccum cleaning and the purifiers on 24/7 in his room and living room. and my 2 relatives who are allergic to pets have had an easier time as well. Also my son has n ot gotten as sick as he usually does this time of year. Although, I do feel the motor is going out on one of them due to constant use and it can be loud on the higher settings. I will ALWAYS use this product as what this product has given our family far outweighs any cons. This is coming from a mom who has tried numerous similar products.

I purchased this on due to all the features but one that was very important was to remove odors. After frying foods, or making fish, the house smells and I was hoping it would remove the smell and it takes a couple of days for the smell to go away. Also with a new puppy, I didn't want to come home to puppy smells.

I bought this air purifier because I started suffering from alergies caused by indoor dust. I have a large size bedroom and I placed it there at night. The next morning I did not noticed any changes, but my nose was still stuffed. The air on my room was drier and yes this product emits a strong plastic smell. I decided to stop using the ionizer, but the plastic smell continues. I already have it for 4 nights and I haven't noticed any difference in the air even on the highest setting which is to o loud. I do agree with the previous comment about this product is loud and smell awful!! Do not buy it. I'm still interested in an air purifier but I need to do more research on my own before I buy the next one.

I moved into a dusty, probably moldy old house. I had bad allergies that led to a horrible sinus infection-- I didn't want a filter with an ionizer I couldn't turn off(who wants reduced lung function?) so this seemed like a good bet. I set the timer when we hit the sheets and my man and I both wake up clear-eyed and glad to be here. We can use the ionizer in the basement when no one is down there and let it kill everything. I like that the replacement filters are inexpensive, too. All the web r esearch was worth it- I sleep better and cough so much less.

As a prenote, I have severe asthma. Recently with the high allergen counts, I was unable to handle the air quality in my condo. After purchasing the Honeywell air filter at my local Target Store, I've noticed a night and day difference. At first, you might notice a plastic sort of smell, that goes away after a day or two. I couldn't be happier with the results of the air. I am now able to open my windows to let fresh air in during the night and let my Honeywell cleaner take care of the rest. The air feels crisp and fresh and definitely healthier.I can tell you that this unit does work well and I have my own personal proof of that. Typically I have to use my inhaler/ antihistamines at night. Now I have to do nothing of the such. I wake up full of energy and am able to breath fully. I couldn't do that before without this air cleaner. I am confident this cleaner has improved my health, especially my sleep habits. The unit itself is very good looking, especially matches my bedroom decor. I was very pleased with the quality of the components. As for the unit itself, it has a backlit LED screen which has bar shaped indicators for different statuses such as how clean the filter is, etc. You also get many features on this unit that other Honeywell models dont include. Notably the timer feature, whilst basic is extremely useful to me. I can leave the cleaner on while I am at work and it has shut off later in the afternoon. Other features include an Ionizer feature and built in UV light. I don't always use the UV light, however it turns on automatically when you power the unit on. You have the option of turning any of these features on or off when you set the fan speed. I find the UV light useful for when people are sick in the house, or their is a lingering smell such as mold. While this unit is particularly expensive, I do not regret buying this at all. It will improve the quality of your home and life. If you are breathing unclean air, do a favour to yourself and try a Honeywell product out.

I too researched air purifiers and concluded to buying this one. I have severe allergies;running nose, congestion, and a chronic allergy eye itch. I have tried allergy shots, prescriptions, and every OTC available, nothing! After purchasing this air cleaner my allergies simply dissappeared. I bought the product [...] and ran it most of the day. Low noise, with great bells and whistles, last week it began to drag and within a day it would not power on, completely DEAD. My allergies symptoms have now returned full force, which made me aware of how effective the cleaner had been the past 2 years. [...] Disappointed! Great product if it worked!

I bought this air cleaner about 6 months ago and have run it constantly since then and it's still working great - cleans the air nicely and QUIETLY. We had purchased a different model of a Honeywell air cleaner and within a month sounded like a jet engine. Not this one! I've been using it at it's standard setting (what it automatically defaults to when you turn it on) and have NOT used the oscillating feature - so I don't know whether it would continue to perform so quietly under different circ umstances. But even at the default/low setting it's been keeping the air in our basement family room (a very large area - I'd guess about 700 sq ft - that tends to be musty) very clean and fresh. I have asthma and couldn't spend much time in our basement until we got this air cleaner. Now I can hang out there as long as I'd like with absolutely no problem. I'm going out today to buy a second one for our master bedroom.

I purchased this fan to help with my husbands asthma and it has worked wonders, and once spring came around, I found that it helped my seasonal allergies tremendously! I have not found it to be overly noisy or have any smells as mentioned in previous reviews. In fact, it's very pleasant to have running and keeps the room a little cooler since it is circulating the air. I plan on buying one or two more for other rooms in the house.

This item simply has the Honeywell logo on it. Once you buy it everything must be handled through some company called Kaz - Honeywell has nothing to do with this item. It does smell like cheap burning electronics when you first buy it but that does eventually go away. The oscillate feature broke after about a year of use, it is somewhat noisy on the higher settings and air only blows from the middle of the unit. The rest of the unit front is just for show, the actual opening for air is only abo ut 5 inches by 3 inches and it blows to the right of the unit - not a huge concern, but know what you are getting. Since the unit is white you can see the UV light right through it at night, so it will light up your room if the UV feature is on at night. Overall, this unit works - but I think you are paying a lot for a lower quality item that is likely made in China. Also, some of them have a noisy fan at low settings like another user commented, you just have to keep returning them until you get one that works.
