goes on great as a base for a lipstick. there are two sides of it, the light side glides on smoothly and the dark side is the exfoliating part which is rougher. so i'm guess you put on the smoother side first and then use the darker side to "exfoliate" any dry skin off. but in general it works great and helps make your lipstick color look smooth.

It's sugar-based (smells like it, which i like) and feels grainy, which is the exfoliating part. I can't really tell the difference between the two sides, and it's very tough to apply, even using a brush.My stick broke, too, because you really have to press to get it on, so I'm going to put it in a container, but I'm not sure how often I will use it.
