Great for small spaces! This was a little tricky to put together by one person, only because it would be helpful if one person holds it while the other person assembles. But, I am a petite person and still managed to do it myself! It looks great and is relatively durable. I put my laptop on it and still have room for a small workspace. The two shelves are really helpful. I wish it had a half shelf for a pritner below the main shelf, but all in all this is a great value.
I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and dont have much space for a desk to hold my computer. I ordered this item and i love it! it is not too big and it fits perfect in my apartment and my computer fits great! The shelves look misleading in the pictures but you can actually fit things on them! i can even use one shelf as a bookshelf! Great buy! I also put it together by myself; took a while but was worth it in the end!
I purchased this for my teen daughter's room. I bought snack cannisters for the larger shelf and stored waters and soft drinks on the top shelf. At the very bottom I purchased a small fridge and when done she had a snack station for her room for overnights. It looks great!
I've been wanting a leaning desk for a long time but couldn't bring myself to spend the money for one at [...], so I was more than pleased when I learned that Target was selling the same style. I bought the desk to fit in a small studio apartment and it works perfectly as well as adding height, and therefore some dimension, to my furniture decorum. The finish is really nice and it was pretty easy to assemble, although I admit I did have some difficulties at one point. I wouldn't say it was the
easiest thing I've ever put together but it wasn't so bad either. My only concern is the size of the shelves. They aren't big enough to hold anything other than novels or other small books. In comparison, a textbook or even stack of magazines would hang over the edge of the middle shelf. I can only store notecards and picture frames on the top shelf. If you don't need the type of work station where everything is one place--printer, computer, books/files altogether, then this is fine. It's a great minimalist piece and very sturdy as well.
Target says you should order the Manhattan leaning bookcase to go with this desk. Well, that bookcase is 3 inches SHORTER than this desk. Has anyone ordered this desk and put it with leaning bookshelves? What leaning bookshelves did you put with it? Thanks!
I wish there was a forum for questions instead of just reviews. At any rate, could someone tell me if you can feel the woodgrain on this? Or are the shelves completely smooth? I wish I could see a close up!
Disappointing quality - pre-drilled holes at least 2 inches off on one side so shelf sits crooked, missing screw, dent on top bar had been "fixed" by someone running black magic marker over it instead of filled and painted. Also, very high shipping and no ship to store option.
