I decided to take the risk and purchase this desk even though some of the reviews were not very positive. Well, it wasn't a good idea. The item arrived damaged and it was obvious it had been already assembled and returned to the store. The desk was damaged in one of the corners, looked like water damage, and some of the paint came off in some of the parts previously assembled. This was not damaged during shipment, transportation or delivery, it was already damaged in the box. I can't believe Ta
rget does not inspect these items before shipping. Just a minimal inspection would have caught this problem. The closest Target store did not accept the return as the only return method is by mail for this purchase so now I have to wait until UPS picks it up. Very dissapointed...
I bought two of these desks and had them shipped. Each feels like it weighs a metric ton, but are sturdy as all get-out. I use them for sewing tables and have also stood on them to reach things on the ceiling. They are supposedly capable of handling around 500 lbs, and I'd believe it! No wobble, no wiggle at all. They did arrive dented and dinged, but I figure that their weight would make it almost impossible to maneuver without a ding or two. I brought them in one piece at a time to preserve

My desk arrived quickly and in PERFECT condition. It is the perfect size for the space I need it in. I'm going to be using this as a vanity desk to hold a large lighted mirror and store baskets of cosmetics & train cases on the shelves. desk was very easy to put together. only down fall - where to put the computer tower. quick fix - i didn't put the shelf on one side and the tower fit perfectly.
Was extremely concerned after reading the reviews about what the damage upon arrival may be but really have been looking for a desk for some time and this one really fit the bill. It has arrived. I am happy to report after unpackaging it GREAT condition. Guess the shipping folks read the reviews as well and extra caution was taken. I was double packaged and the packing tape was also extra. I have not put it together yet and will once in my new office but so far LOVE it.
I ordered this desk on sale around Christmas. I received the desk demaged. I called customer service to see about a exchange since the item is demaged, they told me I would have to take the item into a store to return and then go back online to re-purchase the item. The would not do exchange until I threw a stink about wanting to exchange for the same desk for the same price I purchased, as the price has gone up since I purchased.
They offered a one time "courteous" replacement
of this item. We'll find out if the second item will be demaged.
Customer service at Target.com is awful!
I have never ordered a piece of furniture online so I wasn't sure what to expect. Upon opening the box I noticed that a piece of the trim on the tabletop portion was broke off. A small amount of wood glue took care of this problem. Overall the desk is exactly as described. Love it!
The way this desk is packaged almost ensures it arrives to its destination damaged to the point you can't put it together. It's also a mail in only item - regardless of what the return phone number tells you- and it's a huge pain to return it. Don't bother. Even if you reorder, it will take 2 more months of waiting to finally get another broken and damaged desk.
Target, you should be ashamed of your customer service and logistics. My store was great in helping me, but you completely fail

Dealing with Target on getting a replacement has been a nightmare! They finally shipped a new one out to me, finally after throwing fits and numerous phone calls! I just received the replacement again and guess what? DAMAGED!!! While I'd like to blame UPS,
the boxes were not damaged so I can't blame them!
Now back to the fight with Target AGAIN to get a desk that is not damaged that I paid for almost 2 MONTHS AGO.....I still do not have a desk but they have my money!
