I love this size of this desk. And it is a seriously hefty weight, it does not look cheap. The table top is roomy for my large screen computer, etc. However, it arrived with a damaged corner. I didn't see any sign of damage on the outside, or I would have sent the box back. A corner was dented, and because it's pressed the layers split open. I glued it all back and sanded and applied some dark furniture wax to repair it. It looks better, but it's kind of aggravating to have to fix something bra nd new. It was easier to fix it than return it all.[...]

Loved the table at first. The "divider" underneath the top broke away, but can be glued. More distressing is the chips that appear in the surface for no apparent reason. I've used a furniture marker to black them out, but they have gotten so numerous that at some point I'm going to have to replace the table, or purchase a piece of glass to sit on top of it to protect. Very sad given how little is placed on the desk.

After reading the other reviews, I took my chances. I just received and assembled the desk today. It's beautiful, solid, great lines, sturdy, and very nice. However, like what the other comments said, it was also damaged - one leg is cracked, the back of the table top is indented, and there are other small inconsistencies. But I assembled it so that all the damaged parts were in the back and one cannot see them the way it is arranged. The packaging was wonderful, but not enough to prevent damage - the thing is over 70 pounds - very heavy!. Overall, I'm happy with it but not perfectly.

Ideal!

I bought two of these desks and had them shipped. Each feels like it weighs a metric ton, but are sturdy as all get-out. I use them for sewing tables and have also stood on them to reach things on the ceiling. They are supposedly capable of handling around 500 lbs, and I'd believe it! No wobble, no wiggle at all. They did arrive dented and dinged, but I figure that their weight would make it almost impossible to maneuver without a ding or two. I brought them in one piece at a time to preserve the backs of family members. I adore these desks and the matching chair! Good value and solid construction! I bought them 7 months ago and am still pleased with them!

My desk arrived quickly and in PERFECT condition. It is the perfect size for the space I need it in. I'm going to be using this as a vanity desk to hold a large lighted mirror and store baskets of cosmetics & train cases on the shelves. The desk was a bit heavy in the box, but I am a 26 year old female and was able to assemble the entire thing by myself, and I'm not a weight lifter by any means. [..]. Altogether, this desk was a great value, is wonderful quality, easy to assemble, and I would DEFINITELY recommend it.

I have never ordered a piece of furniture online so I wasn't sure what to expect. Upon opening the box I noticed that a piece of the trim on the tabletop portion was broke off. A small amount of wood glue took care of this problem. Overall the desk is exactly as described. Love it!

This is a great desk. Very solid and looks beautiful. The top is really large but the open shelves give it a lighter appearance. [...] Be aware that it is really heavy. I had to open the box and take pieces out to get it inside. I found it very easy to put together [...] My CPU fits on the top shelf so that's up off the floor. Solid workmanship + easy to put together + looks expensive = excellen value

This is a great desk. I was concerned after reading some of the reviews. The box it arrived in was somewhat beat up, but the desk itself was not damaged at all.

You must remember what your paying for. The desk is wood but not high quality. The edges have a worn appearance. Attaching the legs to the flat table will require a long drill extension or longer screwdriver due to the size of the holes that the screws have to fit into. If you try to life the table by the top, it will bend since the top may be particle board or cheaper grade wood. It is however more secure (screws) then any particle board item you will buy. I would recommend the table for anyon e looking to buy a table that will survive a few moves if properly secured for transport or taken apart into the three main pieces.
