Madison Large Trestle Desk - Antique White product details page

This desk looked great online, but apparently the quality required for it to pass inspection for shipment is extremely low. This desk was significantly crushed on the edges. There were also many places on the desk that were undersprayed, or that weren't sprayed at all. I payed well over two hundred dollars for this desk and the quality of desk that I received is not acceptable. I'd go to a garage sale if I wanted a desk like this. Upon my attempt to return this desk to a store, where suppo sedly there are easy returns, I was informed that I had to mail this back on my own. That really isn't acceptable either. The box was destroyed enough upon arrival, now I'm supposed to put an opened box back together with 500 feet of packing tape so that I can have it picked up by UPS. My experience with this has been extremely unpleasant. However, the wife really wants this desk, so we are ordering another one and hoping for the best. I wouldn't order this desk again if it were up to me.

Yes, I, too, read the other reviews regarding damage, but decided the desk was perfect for a craft table and hoped mine would arrive undamaged. I was not so lucky. First, There are several inconsistencies in the finish. More than 50-percent of the edges have black marks where it appears the paint has come off. There are also streaks in the finish of the tabletop itself and the surfaces of the shelves. The worse offense was the damaged corner of the table top. I was incredibly disappointed , but because it would not be easy to repackage and return, I decided to put the corner to the back against the wall and live with it. I do love the desk - it was easy to put together and is a fantastic crafting table. [..]

Could not be more satisfied! Only wish Target would indicate dimensions of everything on here - so I'll do it for them. The two bottom shelves are 15" wide, with 23.5" depth and 10.25" opening with a lip, but under the lip is 13.5" of space top to bottom, you'd just have to slide things in and out from the side if you needed something to fit. The upper shelves are 15" wide, 19" depth and 7.5" high with no lip. There is 23" of space between the two outer s helves for your chair. Hope this helps someone who may be on the fence about this purchase. The whole look and feel of the desk seems like it costs between $ dollars - this will be in the family for generations!

I hesitated to order this desk because of so many people reported desks that were damaged on arrival. After weeks of contemplation, I ordered the desk earlier this week. I was happy that my desk arrived one day ahead of schedule, but unhappy that it is damaged! One of the legs is split to the extent that I doubt that glue will ensure safe usage. [...] I've seen desks like this one in many magazines, and have wanted one for years!, [...] The desk itself is lovely. The shelves seem sturdy and the tabletop provides an ample workspace! I look forward to receiving another desk, hopefully in excellent condition!

I am so happy I purchased this desk. It will service multi uses such as sewing and scrapbooking. This huge work surface is so nice. Very sturdy and wipes clean easily. Less than 20 min to put together.The box was in very bad condition but because in was packaged well it was in great shape. I also purchased baskets that fit perfectly in the undershelves at target. I just ordered the matching chair and storage shelves. I can hardly wait to get them. Thank you target!

I bought this desk about a year ago for my craft room. It's a lot larger than I had imagined and I absolutely love it. This thing is massive! My sewing machine looks like a toy sitting on it. It was easy to put together, about 30 minutes or so. My only complaint is that the paint was scratched off some of the edges. I didn't bother sending it back because I was too excited and I figured it would be covered in hot glue soon anyway, which it is! I highly recommend this desk for any craft- lover. It's simply perfect!

I bought this desk over a year ago for my craft room, and it has been the perfect workspace in every way. Assembly was easy, the finished desk is very sturdy and has a nice finish to it, and the large surface makes it easy to spread out everything I'm working with. The shelves are perfect for stashing my most-used tools and supplies so that they're always within arm's reach. When people see my craft room, the desk is always the first thing they comment on. No one can believe I got it at Target. It looks so much more expensive. It was a great purchase, and I will have this desk for many years, I'm sure.

This desk is beautifully made! Solid and bold, with lots of work space! EASY to put together, overall a great value. Found the same desk in a high brow catalog for [a lot more money] I loved it so much I bought 2 w/ the matching chairs.

I read all the reviews before ordering this desk. I was a little nervous because of how many people stated the desk was broken when they received it. I loved the desk so much I decided to take a chance and it is beautiful!!! It fits perfect in my scrapbook room with a ton of room for working. The only downside is that yes mine did come broken too. It was a small piece under the top of the desk that had come off and my husband glued it with wood glue and clamps overnight and it is fixed. I would recommend this desk to anyone that would like alot of work space but I think Target should read the reviews also and do something to fix this problem.
