I first purchased this futon around 2006 but since then the cushions have gooten worn out and I WISH I could replace the cushions only. I do not see that they sell the mattress and cushions by themselves so that I can continue keeping the piece as a whole. .

when i first got this item i think it was back in 2007 or 2006.anyway i was totally in love with it! i dont know why all these ppl keep saying its a bad item when its not at all! i have sleepovers with a lot of friends sometimes and we all sleep on it and it holds all of us and let me tell u were not alll that small! in fact im 18 and i have no problems!you people that are saying it gives u splinters or it breaks..1st of all ur not saposed to sit on it with just the woood gaywads!and 2nd the on

I bought this futon/sofa for my teenage daughter's room so she had a seat and so she could have friends sleep over. It has served that function well. I am thinking of getting one for my office. It works well in small spaces. I though it was good for the money.
I purchased the item in Feb. of 2006, and on May 12,2006 the thing broke. [...] Also, the wooded slacks snapped too. And no I am not fat, it was just made poorly.
This is a terrible item. The wood slats splinter easily and after 6 months of moderate usage, one of the legs broke off. This is a terrible product and the manufacturer did nothing to remedy the situation. Do not buy unless it is for someone who weighs less then 100 lbs.
When I first purchased the mali flex futon, I will admit I was a little skeptical because I had read the prior reviews. This was back in March, four months later I do not regret buying this item at all. For the reviewer that said that it is only good for a child under 150 lbs, nah, don't believe it. My boyfriend who is 6'1" weighing over 200 lbs takes cat naps on it constantly. We have even fallen asleep on it together after a long days work! We have had no problems with the slats. My one
complaint is the fabric on the pillows, it does get damaged rather quickly, but either you can get very DiY and sew some new cases for them (which can also liven up your decor), or buy additional pillows. For the price it is great as an addition, or the main seating/resting spot in a smaller room. Like I said, we love it!
We are very pleased with this futon. I have slept on it and found it to be very comfortable. My overnight guests have gotten good sleep on it as well. No trouble with slats or loose pillows, don't know what the problem is................
Please do not purchase this item, unless it's going to put into a childs room or only used for kids under 150 pounds, this futon is not for adults at all .Its very small and the thin wood panels split easily. I had to actually call the company that manufactored this futon to obtain more wood panels,and surely enough the rubber pieces that holds the panels in place "broke" too. This was a waste of money! Its looks nice and all, but don't buy it!
I thought this might be a great buy when I first purchased it, however, it's not at ALL as "fluffy" as they show in the photos ... and the "pinch points" that are meant to make it look quilted do not hold well at all. The threads on my cushions came out within the first week, taking that "quilted" look right out of there. Although the frame seems sturdy enough, I will be purchasing another mattress and back cushion to replace what I have. Just remember the old sayi
