Pros are Light weight, easy to use, good suction. One trick that I discovered is that I can pump directly into [...] bottles. Warnings rather than cons If you lean forward, milk will spill out. I am able to still pick up my baby - just know that I can't lean forward too much. I use this pump 7 times a day like I said, I pump exclusively. Rather than hooking up the hands free stuff every time, I have a "pumping bra." Basically, it is a nursing bra that I just leave with the straps on it. When it's time to pump, I just change bras and I'm good to go. I'll even throw on a nursing cover if we have company. To those who say it is loud, I would definitely agree. However, it doesn't bother me. At work, I will be on the phone and nobody hears it. It's a great investment and I would recommend this pump to anyone! If you are worried about the price, this is how I recommend you look at it for the number of times that you will use it, compare that to the price of formula.

I've had the pump for one month now, and I have very few complaints. The good: 1) Its really hands free...if you buy a bustier. Didn't bother with that device that came with the pump. Bought the medela bustier for [$$] and its been great.2) The timer is awesome. Don't have to keep track on a clock, always know just how much time has passed so I can make sure I pump out the hind milk as well. 3) So far, battery life is good. Only need to charge every 3 days, and I pump 4-5x a day.The not-so-good :1) Did not like the breast shields that came with the kit. Got another set that's just hard plastic.2) The belt clip does not clip well, the pump has slipped out and hit the floor.3) The pump is quite loud and vibrations are noticeable, but that doesn't really bother me or the baby. I can see how it might aggravate some people though. It becomes white noise after a while.4) I wish it was sealed from the outside. I've tried to pick up crying baby with the pump going, but if you lean over too much, milk will spill out of the bottle. 5) as I said above the hands-free wires they give you are totally useless. Imagine you only have a few minutes while the baby is asleep to pump, there is no way I"d waste time putting that on.

I have never used a breat pump before, and after doing a bunch of research i decided on the hands - free pump...i love the hands-free part!!! i am able to get up and walk around the house while i pump. it is also very easy to travel with. i have a friend with an older version of the medela pump which is in the bag, and has to be plugged into an outlet..and she feels so tied down...this is by far worth the money!!!

It works well, is easy to use and easy to clean. It is loud on the highest setting, but has been good for maintaining my milk supply. I don't use the hands free option with the straps because I don't wear a nursing bra with clips. I really like the battery powered option and being able to pump anywhere.

Love it

I had tons of women suggest the medela freestyle hands free breast pump, but i had to try it for myself to know just how wonderful it is. It's very easy to use and comes with everything you need to get started. This is my first time nursing and i'm glad that i splurged and got this pump instead of a cheaper alternative. It's definantely worth the money. I love the custom settings that allow you to adjust the suction pressure during your sessions. it's very small and compact which allows you to do multiple tasks while pumping. It's also very easy to attach to nursing bras. The bag is very nice too. It holds everything so you can just grab it and go without announcing to the world that you are caring a BREAST PUMP! I would suggest that you get a spare parts kit, the medela quick clean wipes, and the quick clean steam bags. It comes with a cooler and freeze pack, but i havent needed that since i'm near a refriderator/freezer most of the time. But it's nice to know if have it just in case. i would strongly suggest this item to anyone considering a breast pump.

Pro's:Light No need to be plugged into wall.Cons:You can't bend forward without being drenched in milk.Suction is way less than other Medela pumps - to the extent I have to pump one breat at a time - negates the whole "double pump" idea.LoudReplaced the pump already - so if you buy one, hang on to the slip.

Excellent pump! Highly recommend if you work FT or travel!

This pump is wonderful. It is a MUST if you want to go hands-free and/or need to pump several times a week (i.e. full-time working mom). Prior to purchasing it, I rented the Medela Symphony from the hospital for about two months. I returned to work 6 weeks after giving birth, and there was only a small difference between the Symphony & the Freestyle in terms of volume of milk that is pumped. I have to pump twice per shift and I usually get 4-6 oz on each side per time that I pump. The littl e containers are larger than the hospital pump too so it held more milk. It's great that you can charge the Freestyle (battery based) so you don't have to be plugged into the outlet to use the pump. During car trips, it is very easy to pump while riding in the backseat with a blanket over me. This is much much easier to do than trying to feed the baby in public!! I don't use the hands-free option as much as I would have thought I would, but it's a nice option to have. My friend has the Pump-in-Style and from what she's said, the Freestyle is worth the extra money! This pump is pricey but it's worth every penny! Much cheaper than formula if you price it over 3-4 months! (plus if you are going to have more than 1 baby or pump for 6 months +, it really saves in the long run!)

Great for full time pumping

I exclusively pump for my son in the NICU, and this pump is a lifesaver. It's so small and portable, but seems to be just as powerful as the hospital grade pump I used previously. The hands-free option is tricky and time-consuming; it also seems to be for those that are larger-busted than I am. It's also a little noisy; don't expect someone on the other end of the phone not to be able to hear it! Pump parts are easy to clean and the tote is actually pretty attractive. Would definitely recommend.
