I bought this for my 1 year old. She loves building on the table!The track is the perfect size for a good [for cars] If you want a larger building section you have two options, you can insert the pieces the other way which makes the track unuseable for that configuration and gives you more building space, or you can use some of the bigger Bloks you have (if you have an extra set) and build a base so that the whole surface is now buildable on. We do both!Also, yes, the "storage" is pre tty shallow. We use it for the specialty pieces, doors, figurines, etc. and keep the normal "Bloks" in a tote. This works perfectly for us. If you are using all four pieces of the table when building you can't access the storage when you are building, so you'd have to dump them all out anyway. [...]

Definitely loved the fact that all the pieces fit inside the table to store! Also like the fold down legs.What I'm not thrilled with is that the car "track" takes up a lot of space on the table surface. If you look at the photo of the table closely- you can see this. Guess I was expecting more surface area to actually "build" on. My two-year-old seemed to get quickly get bored with the tiny track. Bought this for a x-mas present, but, sadly I will be returning this item.

My son is loving this set! He is enjoying taking the little car around the road and building on the table. However, the storage area is too shallow. We have the basic set of blocks as well and I was hoping that they would all fit inside so we could store them together.

While what happened must have been extremely frighting. It is not a problem with the toy. As was stated the parent stepped out. I am not judging and think that was OK. However, kids sometimes get hurt. Boys will be Boys. Kids can get hurt while you are standing right there. So it is even more likely when we are not. Like I said I am not judging anyone, I have three kids and 4 grand kids and sometimes stuff happens. In 95% of toy related accidents the parents were not there and/or just stepped o ut. It is no ones fault. but, especially not the toy manufacturer. I find this toy to be above safety standards. I was a licensed Child Care Provider for the State and The US Government.(for over 10 years)If your child climbs and likes to sit in and on things. I would recommend not leaving your child alone while playing with this toy.

My 17 month old son got his thigh stuck in one of the handles of this table toy - I'm not sure how it happened, as I had stepped out briefly. His leg started to swell underneath of the table and it took his grandfather, father, grandmother AND myself to get him out. My baby was so frightened - we all were. We finally got him loose using soap and cold water, thank God. I called the company and complained but they said that there was no recall on it and that everything is up to specs. PLEASE! DO NOT BUY THIS SAFETY HAZARD!!!
