I've had this kettle for a few months, and it gets the job done. The whistle isn't as loud as my old Farberware. Sometimes I'll be in another room, and I can barely hear it. That could be a problem because you wouldn't want to forget you have water cooking. It is nice to look at, and I was tired of the classic kettle shapes. So far, we haven't had any problems.

I was looking for a kettle that can whistle and also one that has an opening so I could scrub inside of it. I got this kettle for that reason. It is very easy to clean. I just slide the red tab on top clockwise and it will give me access to the inside. The lid is non-detachable. It boils water quite fast. The whistle for me is adequately loud although I think it would be louder if only the lid is tighter to the body so that the pressure on the whistle is stronger. Some steam comes out of that l id while boiling water. One thing I didn't quite like is how I have to be very careful with opening the spout since I have to press on the spout cover hard and it usually sprinkles a few drops when it opens. I used to have a kettle that opens the spout with an easy-reach trigger and I guess I just have to get used to this. I also like the fact that Michael Graves designed a kettle that is nice and inexpensive (compared to his other designs.) It looks great in my kitchen. Overall, I am satisfied with this kettle.

I found this kettle to charming and simple. It takes a little longer than an ordinary shaped kettle (rounder) to boil water. However, one day I had left the room and forgotten that I had it on the stove. It took me 20 minutes later and the smell of burning plastic to realize it. There is no whistle sound when the water has boiled and because whistle stop is burned to itself and the slider piece is completely burned off I can no longer use it. I know this is my fault but it upsets me that this p ot doesn't whistle. And for the record I have left stainless steel kettles on the stove before without practically going up in flames. And had I waited 5 more minutes I would've had a fire.

This kettle has a fantastic look. The handle never gets too hot to hold, and it makes a nice whistle. Perfect!

We looked for a practical tea can for quite a while. The Michael Graves Easyfill seemed to be the right one. It's usability is excellent the design is ergonomical. Even a full can is easy to handle for my wife who has problems with her wrist. We looked at only all-stainless steel products. This seemed to be made from decent alloy also. Believe it or not we tested it with a magnet in the store to make sure it is a good quality stainless steel material. (Magnets don't stick to real stainless stee l.) So we were OK with paying a premium for it.Much to our surprise, after two months of use the can started to rust around the edges of the top opening. Basically the can is unsanitary, thus, useless after such a short period of time. It always amazes me to discover the new and innovative tactics that manufacturers use to deceptively push consumer products. Well, perhaps the otherwise reputable Michael Graves Design Group [...] should be more careful with what they put their name on. Certainly Target has their fair share of responsibility.

When I first saw this kettle , I didn't get it . It was too simple . It has an easy fill slide opening , mounted flip whistle , and it's a basic stainless exterior . Over the years I have had kettles with a pop-off whistle which I forget to replace or it has gotton burned , I have also had a kettle that the water lid was hard to remove , and I had a kettle with enamel that melted . Michael Graves designed this basic kettle to function with no glitches and did so at a basic inexpencive price . M y daughter Jenny is a frugal tea drinker so I bought this kettle for her birthday and had her name engraved on the side . She enjoys it everyday . She's happy with this kettle . I get it .
