I purchased 2 of these and could not get either one of them to function properly. Unit is much too sensitive to register the correct number of steps accurately. I'd rather spend a bit more and have something that really works. My suggestion....don't bother with this piece of junk.

I purchased this, read through the manual TWICE, set it up according to manual's directions and my personal inputs (weight, stride etc;). My pedometer is doing the opposite of what everyone else's is. It is NOT counting my steps. I tried resetting it and that still didn't help none! It has only counted 1 step! Waste of money, spend a little more and buy a better quality one. (oh not to mention the buttons are small and not user-friendly, as I had to keep pressing and holding the buttons (longer than the recommended 3 seconds as indicated in the manual, when setting it up.) Waste of my time. Don't buy!

DO NOT BUY!

I bought this today at Target and about a hour ago, I started to set it up. Some people who reviewed before me said it was too sensitive, mine was the exact opposite. I had to shake it to get it to count "steps". I even ran around my apartment and it counted one step for every 5 or so. I was very disappointed and will try and return it. Do not waste your time and money on this product.

I am giving this 4 stars. At first i thought it was just a cheapo one. It still is but for the money your paying you do get a lot out of it once you set it up correctly. it tells you in the manual not to use while driving or standing or sitting down. It's hard to say if you use for a day at work to see your steps. its mainly for walking/jogging. However i bought it to see how many steps i take during my day. It comes on the most sensitive setting. For my settings i have it at the least sensitiv e setting, 24 inch stride, and my weight (not telling that). I didn't think the stride was so important. With out the stride set it was really off like at least 50 steps for every 200 shown steps. With the stride I have walked and counted 150 steps only 3 off.. with a shown of 153. i done this a few times to check for an average. Nothing is 100% But with a basic formula you can figure it out. i'm only off about 5 steps for every 150 thus... i will remove 50 or so from every thousand. just because I know i gain a few extra steps when sitting down. .Either way worth the money paid...Can't wait to test this backpacking!!!

I picked this pedometer up at Target today. While setting it up, the Up button stopped responding. In addition, this pedometer is very sensitive even when set to Less Sensitive. Slight leg movements count as steps; therefore, if you're not perfectly still while standing or sitting, then the step count will be very inaccurate. I'm returning this tomorrow and will not be picking up a new one.

I bought this item for the main reason of keeping track of the number of steps that I take each day. I found that this device is VERY sensitive and not reliable to give the correct count. It does say that there are different levels of sensitivity settings, but I did not feel as though it made a difference. I will be returning.....

I was able to set up the time, but it broke as I tried to set the weight. When I returned it to Target, the guy at customer service told me that he bought one for his wife and that it broke too. What a piece of junk!
