While the look of the camera is nice, that definitely wasn't my priority. I had a Nikon in 2004 that took amazing pictures. Since then, while technology supposedly got better, the pictures on this S80 camera haven't necessarily. My priorities were: a camera that focused quickly, adjusted to the lighting situation in the room, and snapped without delay, in order to catch the faces of my little ones or whoever. That didn't always happen with this Nikon, and I've been frustrated. To give it some c redit, I have gotten SOME nice pictures in certain situations - like the beach, or maybe outside. I've gotten a small handful of nice shots indoor too, HOWEVER, when it mattered most - like at our nephews' graduation, some of the pictures were bad and that was with bright lighting indoors, go figure. My old camera would adjust itself, but this one does not always do that when I need it to. Also, when I ask other people to take the picture, it is hit or miss. I realize not everyone knows how to take pictures, BUT - with my old cameras (and Canons), non picture takers could take decent pictures for me. As long as they knew how to focus first. Regarding video - so far, so good. I do like the ability to zoom while videoing. A definite plus. Battery - I'm used to AAs, but this requires charging at home, so I've been out trying to take pictures, when it suddenly died on me :( Not cool. Anyway, I apologize for the negative review. It's not normally like me. However, after 3 digital cameras, I've learned what my priorities are and this is not meeting them. Deciding what to do :( I've been looking at others' Panasonic Lumix, however there are a zillion models and I don't know which one to choose.[...]

I asked for this camera for my birthday and it's the best gift I could have gotten. My main concern in a camera is a fast shutter speed because I hate missing an awesome moment with friends, and this camera delivers for sure. The quality is great and there are several settings and editing options to choose from. The one thing that concerns me is the touch screen is a bit temperamental, but overall it works. I recommend it :)

I got this camera for my daughter for Christmas..it has the best features and she loves the touch screen! She loves the pink color! It is easy to set up and use..also takes great pictures!!

Easy to use. Love the options and it does all the work for me. Just touch it and it goes. Takes great pictures. Love the color of the camera with the two tones of pink. It can go anywhere as it is so compact. It easily fits in a small purse or pocket. Would definitely recommend it.
