I had a different salad spinner in the past that broke shortly after purchase. The OXO Salad spinner has the pump version for movement and is easy to use. I grow my own spinach and lettuce in my mini garden. Prior to getting the OXO Salad Spinner I would need to wash my greens then blot dry and then my salad would turn out soggy. With the OXO Salad Spinner I can wash the lettuce and dry in the same container providing a crisper green. Another plus is once washed and spun you can leave the green s in the salad spinner and store in the fridge. Overall, because of the convenience and crispness provided from the OXO Salad Spinner I feel compelled to eat more salads...in turn leading to a healthier lifestyle.

The spinner is quick, efficient and has the great quality of neatly keeping the knob recessed for easy storage. I LOVE IT!!

I use this all the time. It is really great in the summer for getting the grit off my garden-fresh greens. Love it!

I've tried the cheaper generic brand before on a salad spinner, and after it broke I bought this one. I think it is well worth it to just spend the money and get the OXO brand -- smooth, balanced spinning!

I like the nice large bowl for drying greens out of our garden. The outside bowl doubles well for a serving bowl to save dishes. Like the handle-down and stop-spinning design. It is cumbersome to store, but I think most salad spinners would be.

You will have to pry this from my cold, dead hands. I love this thing. Not only is it great for spinning lettuce (or ANY greens dry), I use if for other veggies as well. Brilliant. We've had ours for 8 years, still going strong. Easy to clean too!

I have had this for over a year and I love it. I bought another one for my mom. It is easy to clean and can be used for drying any vegetable not just salad. This is a little more expensive but the extra $$ is worth having a sturdy product.

I got this lettuce spinner at a yard sale for $ and it was like new. I love it and i love the fact that i didn't have to pay full price for it =)

First off the outer bowl can double as a salad bowl! (So you cut back on washing or stacking one lg. bowl instead of using/washing 2!) It's clear plastic but of a good quality, thicker than most-and a gd. "weight" (though, NOT heavy); certainly nice enough for our everyday use, as well as for entertaining. It cleans very easily, I just rinse the basket well in hot water (for just lettuce)-upside down, rinse the lid clean & I'm done. I have had at least 2 other (different) hand cra nk versions, which had become extremely difficult for me to use, (as I have 4 severely herniated discs now-X 10 yrs. from a car accident, as well as 2 cervical surgeries leaving me with numb and weak muscles in my neck, arms & hands!) It does the job so efficiently & quickly with just a pump or three & stores well, each piece inside each other & the "pumper" on top clicks down for storage. (You can also turn the lid inside of the basket, so you don't have to push it back down, to lock it & release it again the next day if you use it alot!) Can also be stacked inside other (larger) bowls in your cabinet to decrease amt. of cabinet room taken. Just be sure to remove the water from the outer plastic bowl after cleaning the lettuce and give it a few more whirls, to DRY the lettuce. (Obviously, the more spins, the drier the lettuce). I LOVE IT & am so glad, someone else (OXO-probably a woman) realized, the "crank" versions can get difficult to use (to build up a good spin to clean & dry lettuce, etc. adequately), ESPECIALLY if you have arthritis or any other arm, neck or hand problems! Initially, I thought this was a little pricey for a salad spinner, since my very 1st one (30 yrs. ago), I had only spent a few dollars on, but it's definately worth the price-(even with inflation!) I had several others afterward, but all had the same problem-hand cranking to use, which had become too difficult for me; I threw them all away.I did check around in some stores and as well as online & it was all about the same price. I didn't check online any further than Target & FoodNetwork, since they usually have good prices, (so if I'm too tired to spend the night up on the computer looking for cheaper prices), I just go to Target online! I've been very pleased with everything I've bought there, so far!
