I wanted a blender to use to make smoothies and milkshakes. I thought it seemed reasonable to spend [$$$] dollars on a blender to mix ice, fruit, or ice cream together. It can't do it. It can't handle ice. It can sort of blend fruit, although you have to stand over it constantly stirring it since it doesn't do this by itself. Don't even try it with frozen fruit. After owning it less than 2 months, the gears have stripped and it is completely useless. Blades won't turn and all it's good for is m aking noise. Piece of junk. DO NOT BUY!!!

My husband and his former roommate bought this when they moved into an apartment together a year ago. Between wedding planning and married life, I've used this more than anyone, and boy do I wish I had been along to make a better choice. Yes, technically it does function. It turns on, the blades spin round, it makes noise-- a lot of noise. Realistically, it's a TON of effort to make smoothies even from all soft foods. This morning it was bananas, yogurt, strawberries, and spinach-- no ice even, but no matter. No matter what setting, it made no progress. I had to stop several times to pack it down into the blades or stir with a spoon, and after that, I had to let it spin constantly for about 2 minutes before it FINALLY started catching anything on it's own. I might just replace this one, "working" or not.

I purchased this blender in the red color on sale, and should have spent the extra money for one that would actually blend things. Unless you are mixing pure liquids in it, the blender does nothing. Forget about making anything thicker than fruit juice smoothies! It simply makes a horribly loud noise and spins the blades around in the bottom of the pitcher, creating an air pocket. Furthermore, the blender dances all over the counter top regardless of how full the pitcher is, you have to sta nd there and hold it down with your hand or it will dance right off the countertop. It is the loudest blender I've ever used, and does the poorest job I've ever seen. Definitely do not recommend, under any circumstances, nor at any price. The only good thing I have to say about this blender is that the red color is cute, but if you are looking for something other than a countertop decoration, choose another manufacturer.

We got this as a wedding gift. After using it maybe three times (and only a month after receiving it), the pitcher cracked during use. Unfortunately, we didn't have a gift receipt so we couldn't return it. I do not recommend this blender! Way too cheap if you plan on blending ice at all.

Bought this on a moment's decision because it was on sale [...] but now I think it wasn't a worthy deal. Although I haven't used it yet with food, I did open it and tried the motor on, very very loud and annoying sounding! I would totally pay more money for a quieter, more peaceful motor. It really sounded terrible, almost like a vacume! Also, another problem that bothers me without even having used it yet is that the jar/holder doesn't click into the base, it kind of just sits in there, with n othing really securing it. I guess when there is actually some food or liquid in the container it will be weighted down and will seem more secure, but with an empty jar it was not very secure and that just doesn't seem right. Would not buy this again.

I bought this blender when my glass blender broke. It's not good for ice but mixes great smoothies. I guess you get what you pay for. Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase.

If you just mix liquid its ok. I tried ice cream, ice, frozen fruits and vegetables. Anything a little solid just doesn't mix. It doesn't break down anything. I hate it!

Bricked this blender with a tasty paste of garbanzo cement. Perhaps such feats are better served for the 11-speed blender.

I bought this blender because I wanted one to make smoothies/margaritas, but didn't want to spend a lot of money. It works great! Have never had a problem with it. I've used often for smoothies, pureeing soups, making margaritas, blending dips and sauces, etc. All around a great machine. The only concern is it doesn't fit too securely on the base, but as long as I'm holding on while it's blending it doesn't wobble. Also, last time I noticed it didn't turn on because I didn't have it securely on the base - great safety feature. Get this blender!

I had this blender for 8 1/2 years before It finally wore out and I used it at least 3 times per week! I also own a daycare, we used it all the time for that and kids used it, etc. Very durable, very easy to use. I did have to fight with the jar a bit to get it positioned right sometimes. It liked to not rest tightly, but it always eventually secured. I love the consistancy of the blending. It's definately worth the price.. can't beat it. Not to mention I moved about 7 times in those 8.5 yrs... so it was well beat up and kept working. the only reason I even had to throw it away was cause the gears that hold the bottom bar with the blade on it actually wore smooth from using it so much. so it wouldn't turn anymore. all the pieces come apart very easy to clean and store. Loved it!
