The motor hasn't given us any problem, but the threaded nut that seals the bottom of the glass jar has broken (and replaced) twice, leaving quite the mess on the counter. My wife refuses to use the blender again.

We got this blender as a wedding gift 7 years ago and we just now need a new one. We bought one replacement blade in that time. I used it maybe once a week up until 2 years ago and since then have used almost daily. It is loud, but blends quickly and easily. We finally need a new one since the motor appears to be giving out. We are looking into buying another.

Fast & Simple, everything a blender should be!

This blender is a dream come true! It blends a full pitcher of icy drinks in almost no time at all and the best part? There's only 1 button so there's no way to mess it up! The glass pitcher is much more durable than other plastic blenders I've had and even though it sounds like a jet engine, it won't matter because it doesn't need to run very long for anything. I'm quite pleased.

I bought this blender about 6 mos. ago. I have used it every morning to make a breakfast smoothie. At first it worked great and crushed ice and frozen fruit. It was very loud from the start, but worked well. It no longer crushes ice like it used to and struggles. I look for it to die any day.

i got this model with a pretty red base a few years ago, and it's still going strong, with promise to continue. i don't have a food processor, so i use this for pretty much everything, from smoothies to hummus to salsa to blended soups. my only caution is that with only one setting (on/liquify) it is hard to keep from overblending if that's an issue. for example, making salsa, i let it kill big chunks of serrano and onion, but save out some of the tomato and cilantro and just pulse those in at the end.

I bought this blender a couple of years ago because it had a glass container and it just seemed solid. I have never been happy with it and I am searching for a different blender that can actually blend things. It is very loud and it cannot even blend a smoothie for the kids without a foul smell as if the motor is going to light on fire. Any blender should be able to blend ice without much effort. This one cannot. Save your money and look for something else!!!

The jar is glass, and the base and its innards are metal. It is heavy because it is solid and well made.

Mom had one of these when I was growing up, the only reason we got a new blender was that the glass flask broke. The new blender we got did not do what this one did, and the motor burned out when trying to crush ice.I was happy to see this old classic on the shelves once more, and bought one for my mom about five years ago. Hundreds of jobs later, it's just as good as new.Now that I'm moving into my very own kitchen, I'm going to get one of these too. No blender really needs more controls than Off - Low - and Hi. The toggle switch on this model will last longer than plastic buttons and knobs. Metal exterior is easy to wash, and the chrome or copper finishes look great in any kitchen.

HAD A VERY EXPENSIVE IKON BLENDER(WHICH BROKE 2 DAYS AFTER GETTING IT)AND HAD DONE SOME MORE RESEARCH AND FOUND THIS LITTLE WORKHORSE TO BE THE BEST VALUE FOR THE MONEY. IT IS LOUDER THEN THE IKON WAS BUT CAN CRUSH 3/4 OF AN ICE TRAY WITH LIQUID AS WELL AS THE IKON. I USE IT FOR PINA COLADA'S AND PUREEING HOT SOUPS. EASY CLEAN UP AS WELL. WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
