Two weeks ago, my blender of 8 years finally died. I bought this hand blender because it was on sale and it matched my color scheme. It broke the SECOND time a used it! 4 days later and I am still waiting to hear back from the company.
I purchased this blender to replace a different name brand that I had used for over 2 yrs. I only got this one because it was the only one available for purchase at the store I stopped in at. It lasted for about two weeks of blending two protein shakes each morning (with no ice.) The motor began to smell like it was smoking so I stopped using it and made a trip to a different Target to try the Ninja. So far it is nice and powerful but it does not fit into the tumblers that I use for shakes. I a
lways make too much or not enough and the unit & parts are taller than most of my storage cabinets. I just hope this Ninja lasts for as long as it should. I've had bad luck with other Oster mixers that I have purchased too so I think this is the last Oster I will spend any money on.
I am not a chef in the least - however I am always looking for ways to simplify what I do in the kitchen. This item has turned out to be one of my most used appliances in the kitchen. I have used it for everything from mixing eggs for scrambled eggs (to help make them fluffy) to making soup and milkshakes. Very easy to use and it also comes with a handy measuring cup. Great buy and great value!
I really like the blender light easy to clean and use . Wish the blending cup was glass instead of plastic. My only other complaint is the button should require a little less pressure to engage
My first Oster broke after a few months of gentle use, but since it was under warranty, they sent me another unit. The stick breaks away from the plastic fitting that attaches to the motor body. That one broke within months as well. I went back to Target and bought another Oster and within months, same thing. I will never buy another Oster blender again, and I'm concerned about the rest of their products as well.
Bought this for my wife, she used it once and it broke. The 'guts' of the blending mechanism are made of cheap plastic. Would take it back but we lost the reciept. Do not buy this one, spend the extra 20 to 30 bucks and get one with metal gears that will not warp after first use.
I've used this blender about 3 weeks - maybe not long enuf to see if it will last -according to the reviews I've read. I blended a pea soup in the pot and it worked better than my heavy duty blender that I need to first pour the hot soup into, then return it to the pot. Cleanup is a cinch. I use it every day to make protein smoothies that I blend with frozen bananas &/or frozen strawberries & raspberries along with juice or soymilk and protein powder. It leaves everything smooth with no
lumps. I was going to buy one as a wedding gift but after reading all the negative reviews I'm not so sure.
Both my mom and I have this immersion blender, we have had no problems with it in the many years we have used this. She uses hers more than I use mine and it works great still after many years. This is a great thing to have in the kitchen. For a $ dollar bill you can't find much that is this handy and easy to use, and not to mention extremely useful, for that amount of money. Of course all veggies or fruit should be pretty soft, I have never used this to chop ice so yea it might not hold up for
long if you do that but anything reasonably cooked for soups or baby food or chopped fruit and yogurt for smoothies would be just fine. You should never have a problem. I certainly haven't. I am buying this for a wedding gift for my best friends who are getting married tomorrow.
I use a hand blender for making gravy & soups. I mix right in the pot/pan as I'm cooking. I found 3 things wrong with this and will be returning it. 1) There is no difference between the speeds. 2) The metal base scratched my pan. 3) If you look closely, base is a poor design. Chunks get stuck in the holes and when you lift it the least bit out of the liquid, it splatters. I got better results with a fork. The added cup is totally useless for my needs.
