Shark Rapido Pro Lightweight Iron product details page

Basically the problem I have with this iron is that it keeps shutting off, so I have to keep unplugging it and plugging it back in EVERY time it shuts off...I am thinking all the other issues may arise from people not realizing that the iron has shut off...I believe the problem arises from the heating element being on when you fill the reservoir. The instructions DO tell you not to do so...but I only read that after I had been using it for like a month. Now I am not an engineer, but I think if you fill up the reservoir while the iron is on, it causes a major malfunction in the unit...POOR DESIGN, LOW QUALITY. Save your hard earned money and buy an iron with a better rating...

What a shame Shark can't make a simple steam iron. What a waste of money. After about 1 year of normal use and now the iron is broken. Keeps shutting off. Perhaps a cord problem or electronic sensor??? I need another iron and it won't be from Shark!

I was so disappointed by this iron. I would have rated 0 if I could have. I had read a review that said it was a great iron at a medium price range. I was even more excited when I found it on sale. But that is where all the good things about this iron end. It doesn't heat up. The only steam I got out of it was by pushing the burst button repeatedly. The easy to fill resivour is not at all easy. You have no way of telling how full it is because it has to lay flat while filling. And it LEAKS LIKE CRAZY. I couldn't even discern where the water was coming from. Left my clothes wrinkled. Retuned it after 40 mins of use.

This iron is absolute JUNK. I used it twice and it leaks water like crazy and blows junk all over my clothes. This was used twice and the plate was caked with stuff blowing out of the iron and it didn't even get the wrinkles out of my clothes. This iron shouldn't even be allowed to be sold. I used it twice and its going back tomorrow. PLEASE!!!!!!!!! [...] I don't know what their other models are like but this is a total waste of [$].

I've had this iron for 10 months and it is going in the trash today. It stopped heating up about a month ago. I would have to wiggle the cord to keep it heated. I take excellent care of my appliances and have never had an iron die on me this quickly. I wish I could get my money back. For [$$] dollars I could have gotten something that actually works.

Just purchased it. Used it twice. Heating is terrible...have to use top setting just to iron a thin shirt and it still has ends up with wrinkles!. I have never had an iron that performed as badly as this one. Taking it back ...waste of money

I believe this iron is pretty decent for the price. I have never had a problem, and I have had some pretty bad irons in the past. It's not a fancy, high tech iron, but it will get the job done.

I bought two of these steam irons in the space of 3 years. The temperature mechanisms on both of them failed within 18 months. If you want something that lasts, don't buy this product.

The iron worked okay, while it worked anyway. The spray & steam buttons were very hard to push and after about one year it now won't turn on at all. Because of the cord placement the iron sits very unsteadily while in the upright position.

Purchased this iron a few yrs ago ((( At that time it was about [$] higher in price))) and after a few weeks of daily use it leaked all over!!! Took it back & they replaced it! The second iron lasted maybe a week & completely went OUT!!! Needless to say by that time I was more then LIVID! lol:) Packed it up & back it went !I had either mis-placed the receipt or was so mad after the second return & might not have picked it back up...anyway I never imagined having to take 2 of the se back. After explaining what happen to the gal at the return desk and then again to a manager. I got STUCK with "YES" the 3rd iron!!! ((( Manager said the only thing he could do would be replace it. ))) The 3rd iron has lasted almost 2 yrs..will say I totally loved the features of it. But plugged it in this morning & it was "DOA"!!! So again I'm off to purchase another new IRON..that will NOT be a "SHARK"!!!
