I have super dry hair, thats always itchy. I was constantly scratching and when I did I could see flakes fall. That already sucked, but on top of all that I have hair that stinks, after two days of not washing it. Retaining length and moisture...forget aboutit. This product totally revolutionized my life, I am so glad I compulsively bought it. After the first use I had curls w/o having to use gel, after the first two days- my head stopped itching all the time, and after the first two weeks I c an now get second and third day hair after a wash and go.....any longer than that and my bf will say it smells so its not a miracle worker

This turned my 3b/c hair into straw. It was so dry and I couldn't get my fingers or a comb thru it without a deep conditioner.

I found out about this shampoo from another website. It has caused a significant decrease in my scalp itch, which no other remedy has done. I plan on trying the Purification Masque next. One thing that surprised me about this shampoo is that it has significantly faded some hyperpigmentation on my face. I mean, within days of using it. I have not tried the black soap bar, but I tried a black soap face wash and a black soap body wash, and neither faded the spots like the shampoo has. So, I' m using the shampoo for both!

I had been using this product for the last 6 or 7 months, and my first impression of it was that it was a good shampoo, but not great. I must eat those words now and say that this product is AWESOME and works wonders for my hair! For Christmas, I got a set of "salon quality" hair products for natural hair, and when I ran out of my Shea Moisture, I decided to give the new products a try. I've only used the salon shampoo twice, and my hair has NEVER been so dry and straw-like. It als o looks quite dull. So long story short, I didn't realize how well the Shea Moisture shampoo was working until I stopped using it! I've since thrown away my "salon" kit, and I'm headed to pick up my Shea Moisture shampoo right now! I love this stuff, and I will never stray again. I am by no means a product junkie, and when I find something that works, I stick with it! Thanks Shea Moisture for your excellent products at such a great price, and thanks Target for carrying them!

This really works for my hair after I take braids out and need a really good cleaning... this products is amazing....

I did the big chop 1.5 weeks ago and this was the shampoo I bought to help me with my new short natural style. This shampoo is moisturizing and does not strip my hair. A little goes a long way because it is thick but luxurious. I use this 2-3 times a week and co-wash with the matching conditioner.

This shampoo does really deep clean your hair, but does not strip it. It is a non-sulfate shampoo. As I am an African American woman, non sulfate shampoos are important to the health of our hair. I also like the smell. I will definitely buy again as this shampoo is one of my staples.

I bought this product because I have had success with other hair products from the Shea Moisture line and because I have extremely bad eczema and dry scalp. As far as this improving the condition of my scalp, I will say that it did help, just not to the degree that I wanted it to. I wash my hair weekly, and I've noticed that after using this shampoo (along with the matching Balancing Conditioner), my scalp does tend to flake and itch less. With other shampoos, my scalp would flake and itch 2-3 days after washing and with this product, I don't have flakes or serious itchiness for at least 5 days after washing. However, the reason that I really like this product is because it leaves my hair incredibly soft, detangled, and manageable. I can actually finger comb my hair in the shower while this shampoo is in my hair. I've never had that experience with any shampoo. My hair is never dry or brittle after use of this product. With that said, I may buy this product again. If not, I plan to try the Shea Moisture Curl Controlling Shampoo (from the Coconut and Hibiscus line) and see which of the two I like best. Overall this is a nice product with good results so I recommend it!

I have - I mean had really bad dandruff. I used this and the conditioner and my dandruff is almost all the way gone after one use. The conditiner made my hair soft and manageable. The Shampoo is really thick but once you get use to it you learn how to work with it. I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone suffering with dandruff.
