I purchased this grill for a South African friend who barbeques (braais) alot, as do most South Africans. When he first used it, he was so pleased he sent me photos via his mobile phone of lamb chops and boerwors (sausages) grilling and then another one of the grill closed up and in it's case. Truly a great item for people who like to grill and peole who like to camp or go out on picnics.

This was perfect for our vacation, and worked awsome. It did not take up a lot of space in the truck, and was so easy to use. And when your done it goes right back in the bag. No waiting for ever for it to cool down. We have also used it on little day trips were we can just grill lunch in the park. I would recommend this as long as your not cooking for a bunch of people. We cooked for six people on our vacation, and that was about max.

I am a loyal target shopper I have never had a problem with anything I have ordered until I recieved THIS! I cant tell you how it works cause I never got to that point... When I received this grill I was so excited, I just bought a new home and the grill was the next step to settling in. Well, I opened the package, and as soon as I got the box to the carrying case open.. I noticed DOG HAIR AND DIRT COVERED IT.... I was so upset...Then I opened the grill and my hands were covered in black and wh en I opened up the grill.. there was grease from meat in it.. and dirt... and the actual grill plate was broken in half.. someone had used this a few times then returned it and it was sent to me. I am soo upset.. now I have to pack this nasty thing up while being covered in black and bring it to the closet target... I will never go through this again.

I received one of these a few weeks ago as a gift. I tried it out a couple of days later and was pleasantly surprised. First, I hate to build fires. The Son of Hibachi's simple system for lighting was easy even for me. The cooking was great; cook time for steaks was just about 10 minutes. Heat was well distributed and consistent. The next day we used the rotisserie- I had never used one of these before, but it was pretty easy and made me look like I knew what I was doing. I didnt see that the r otisserie was listed in the Target site, but it is also made by them. Thanks Target.

I am so happy to see this offered at Target. I bought oneback in the dark ages (ok, 1970's)and lost it several years later. I've been looking for a replacement ever since. These things are fabulous! They really do save charcoal, clean themselves and snuff out the fire too! I used mine all the time and it was far easier to travel with than any other grill I've found. The only change I see here is that the main unit is now steel where it was cast iron when I got my first one. Still, I'm going to try this and see if it lives up to it's predecessor. The "snuff out pouch" is really wonderful too as it lets you put the hibachi back into the car trunk without having to wait for everything to cool back down.
