Needed a replacement for my old hotshot, this works just as perfect, the plastic is a little cheaper, and the dispenser is a little slower, but over all its still a great product!

I find the hot shot an invaluable kitchen appliance. I first bought the Hot Shot 15 years ago.I used it daily for making hot tea. I recently bought one for work so I can have that cup of tea late in the morning and in the early afternoon. In order to make a great cup of tea very hot water must be used. It is much faster than a tea kettle heated on the stove top. It is available when a stove is not. The microwave just does not heat the water fast enough or hot enough. But the best fact about the Hot Shot is that it is a safety device. The Hot Shot is perfect for the adult that is forgetful or distractable. My mother has burned up several tea kettles on the stove top before I gave the Hot Shot to her for a gift. She would fill the tea kettle with water and put the stove on high and then become distracted by the phone or leave the room waiting for the kettle to boil just to return much later with the kettle burned and melted on the burner. This device saves the worry of setting the house on fire. When the water is boiled it turns itself off. So if it is forgotten it is not a safety hazard. I recommend this appliance for the office, home, dorm room or for the elderly. I can have peace of mind and enjoy my hot tea.

This is our third Hot Shot. We received our first Hot Shot as a wedding gift almost 33 years ago and wouldn't want to be without one. Among many other things, it's ideal for heating water to brew tea or coffee for two and for heating water quickly for recipes that call for boiling water. Heats more quickly than the microwave. Highly recommend,

I don't drink coffee so I didn't need one of those expensive new coffee makers, I drink tea and only needed hot water faster than my microwave and this item is perfect. It doesn't leave my cup too hot to handle and is safe enough for my children to use.

We have purchased these Hot Shots for every graduate or wedding shower we have received. It is a must in our home, as well. Great for soups, noodles, chocolate, tea and coffee. Try it, you'll LOVE IT!!!

We have used our Sunbeam Hot Shot for many years, now. It's a fast and efficient way to heat water. One thing that we have found is that, once water has been heated, the cool-down time takes a while before you can heat more water. To remedy that, we simply put a few ice cubes in the tank along with the water, and almost instantly, you're ready to go again. I honestly don't know what we would do without our Hot Shot!

I LOVE MY HOT SHOT BUT THE OLDER MODELS WERE SLIGHTLY TALLER WHERE THE CUP GOES ... I OWN SEVERAL ALWAYS KEEP ONE PACKED TO GO ON TRIPS YOU CAN USE IT FOR ANYTHING THAT TAKES HOT WATER FROM TEA, COFFEE, HOT CHOCOLATE, CUP'OSOUP , INSTANT OATMEAL.... EVERYTHING FROM BREAKFAST TO LUNCH TO DINNER... WOULD NEVER BE WITHOUT MY SUNBEAM HOT SHOT!!!

We love our Hot Shot. Our first one was given to us as a Christmas present and we had it for some time when my son decided to heat milk in it - that does not work. We replaced it ASAP. It is perfect for amy nightly cup of t ea, apple cider mix and hot chocolate mix. We also purchased one when a friend of ours became ill. We put it in a gift basket with instant soups and drinks etc. She called and told us how much she loves it and how easy it is to use.

Pro: It boils a cup of water done under 2 minutes. It doesn't occupy a lot of space. Simple to use even for elderly.Con: It is built cheaply. I was a bit disappointed when I received the unit. It was built rather cheaply. The dispenser that release water onto the mug is a bit flimsy. And not all coffee cup and mug fits under the dispenser. One of my starbucks mug gets in the way of dispensing button.The true value of the dispenser comes to play when I was sick for a week. [...] One full week of extensive usage made the buy worthwhile for it. In fact, I like it so much that I loaned it to an elderly person who enjoy hot tea all the time. [...] He tried it for a week and have been keeping it since. In summary, the concept of the hot water dispenser was great. The only thing bad about this one is the quality of the build.
