This ice cream ball is a lot of fun, but you must follow the directions exactly in order to get the ice cream the right consistency. When the ball is loaded with the ice and rock salt, and the ice cream ingredients, it is quite heavy so make sure to wear proper footwear (i.e. sneakers) when kicking it around. I makes more ice cream than you think...enough for 3 or 4 full bowls. Don't expect storebought-style ice cream. This will be icier and taste, well, homemade.

Overall the ice cream maker made yummy ice cream. It just took forever to make! One thing to note is that if this ice cream maker hits concrete, it will break. So watch out if you are letting kids use it :) IT'S A DEFINITE BUY IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A FUN TIME WHILE MAKING ICE CREAM! ENJOY!!

The ball made very good ice cream but when it was rolled to each child it hurt them if it hit. It's like playing ball with a bowling ball!

My 4 year old son received this as a gift on his Bday & he/we had a blast watching/helping him make his own ice cream. And better yet, the ice cream tasted good! Fun gift for the young ones that will keep em occupied for around 20-30 mins while making the ice cream & who knows how long eating the ice cream! And it makes one large bowl of ice cream or a couple medium sized bowls I would say...

We've only used it a handful of times, but it does make some good ice cream! (The child in) my husband loves to "play" with it and I'm sure the kids will too, when they're old enough. Has held up well over time, too: no cracks in plastic or breaks in the seals.

I bought this for my husband for christmas and instantly loved it. The instructions call for you to FILL the compartment with ice. We never have enough ice (unless we got buy a bag) to fill it and it works with what we use, 1 tray.

gave it to my sister for christmas! not sure about how it works but there are more expensive versions of this at other stores! i wish target had more of their products in the stores and not always online!
