This is so cute, when I plugged the night light in it was pretty bright for a night light but I like it that way, I haven't put on the switch plate yet, but totally worth the buy!!

The only reason I gave this 4 instead of five is that I wish the night light had a light sensor instead of a switch because it's not one of those things you remember to turn off and then we burn through light bulbs, plus it's not very energy efficient to leave it on all day! I am going to see if the shade will fit on a night light that I have. The switch plate is very thick ceramic which I was not expecting. All in all I love it!

The switch plate is of nice quality and is fairly thick - it does slightly reduce the amount of the switch that is exposed, but not enough to cause a problem. The night light is very nice as well and puts out a surprisingly good amount of light - it lights up the nursery enough to see where everything is without having to turn on the ceiling fan light. It may be too bright to use in typical night light fashion while the baby is sleeping, but a lower wattage bulb would probably be an easy fix.
