Victorinox 8" Chef's Knife - Black product details page

This knife is even better than I hoped it would be. It cuts like butter and it's an absolute pleasure to use! I've only had it for about 2 weeks, but so far so good! It's an excellent value and I am a very happy customer! My ONLY complaint is that it did not come with a protective cover or case, so I've been storing it in the wood block of my dish rack.

I have had this knife for four years and it has stayed sharp and worked well for all kinds of cooking. For the money, you can't beat it. I give it as gifts to all my friends that like to cook. Highly recommended.

I love the way this knife cuts through vegtables, onions, fruit and even trims chicken and meat. Its handle is strong and textured so that your hands dont slip even when wet. i would have given this a 5 star rating except for the fact that there isnt a block or sleeve to store it in when not in use. Any way a great knife and a great value

This knife arrives razor sharp and does not disappoint in the kitchen. I had been searching for one of these knives for a long time, ever since they were reviewed and recommended on PBS's America's Test Kitchen. With care and practice, pretty soon I was slicing and dicing like a pro! I will probably order a paring knife and perhaps other sizes of this brand in the future because I am so pleased with the performance of this one.

This knife has just the right balance and is high quality. It makes chopping, even slicing through whole water melons, a piece of cake. So glad I read the other reviews and went ahead and purchased it. Love it!

Bought this as a gift to myself and absolutely love it. Really does cut through vegetables like butter. My chopping and cooking speeds have increased quite a bit as a result. Buy this!

A great knife is one of the best tools that a cook can have. This is a great knife! It has a good balance and cuts beautifully. I cannot believe that it cost less than $ . When we are watching our spending, this is an amazing value.Buy this for someone that you love, and while you are at it, buy one for yourself! That's what I did ;) Kat

I purchased this knife because I read a review in Cooks Illustrated, December 08, in which they rank this knife as "best in class" It is a great value and best of all, outranks the department store brands. Used in everyday cooking applications. This is a wonderful product and I plan I purchasing more to use as gifts for friends and family.

There's no reason to have a more expensive knife. I bought this after seeing it ranked as the best knife in it's price class by America's Test Kitchen last year. Not only did it win the category, it was talk up by the host as being "the only knife we use in out kitchens." So I ordered it and it cuts through onions like butter. Be careful around kids for sure, but this think is great. I've given it as a gift 4 times now. Get it!
