I bought this garlic press along with a set of pans for my niece's wedding showers and she's so please with all the products - Target rocks according to my niece!

It does press garlic. Can't say I love it. Not that I'm an expert.I've only had one other garlic press, which was a low priced model purchased on the run at my local grocery store. It could only handle a couple of cloves at a time, left a lot of unpressed garlic around the edges, and totally fell apart within a couple of years of routine use. No other choice at that point than to get a new press.Hoping for a better one, this time I put some thought into the purchase and after a little research,
chose this model. [...] and even came with instructions that said to put unpeeled cloves into it. Yay! My old press could never have handled that (the peels would have clogged the pores), and then came putting it to the test.In short, this press cannot handle unpeeled cloves either, is bulkier while not actually able to hold more, is harder to press, and much more of a pain to clean than my old one. It does leave less unpressed garlic around the edges and has a more durable look to it. Nevertheless, I'd gladly purchase my old model every couple of years rather than to have this one for a lifetime. With that being said, it does do it's job to the extent that I have no complaints about not getting my money's worth or anything. I just miss my old press.
This is a great garlic press!! I use a lot of garlic and used to cut it up by hand. With this press, you dont' even need to peel the garlic first. It's also actually very easy to clean adn comes with it's own "comb" to get the garlic out of it. you won't find a better press for the price.
This saves so much time in the kitchen! It's a little annoying to clean, but it's still worth it. You don't even have to peel the garlic cloves before putting them in.
I took my old Zyliss down to Atlanta to visit my daughter and left it there. I tried other presses because I couldn't find my old Zyliss. Very aggravating. Now that I've found it, I'm not letting it go! No more wasted garlic. This should be the only garlic press out there. Great shower gift addition. They will have it forever! It will never break. My best kitchen tool.
A friend gave me this as a gift, and it's probably one of the most used gifts I have ever recieved. I absolutly love it! My husband loves garlic but I hated having to peel it and dice it, but this little gadget does it all! It is so easy to work, and if you rinse it right after you use it, it is so easy to clean. I was a little concerned about how light it was, but it works great! I have been using it for almost every meal! If you don't have one I highly recommend you buy this one!
The ZYLISS Susi Garlic Press pictured on line Item # 559666 is not what you're going to recieve, I've had a round bowl Garlic Press by ZYLISS for 20 yrs and loved it, it was outstanding! The replacement I recieved was a (for better words) "3/4 oval bowl" with the same Item #, "Not the one pictured". Hopefully it works as well the old one and better than Targets advertising. Guess you can say I'm disappointed.
Finally, I have a garlic press that is worth keeping. I gave up on garlic presses long ago because none I tried worked. A few did for a few weeks and broke but others either didn't do it at all or cleaning was more time consuming than doing the job by hand. Mine did not come with the cleaning tool. I use a tooth brush for it when needed which is seldom. I did buy my son the jumbo version, which includes the cleaning tool. Wish I had bought that one too. Probably still will.
This the best press that I have ever owned. All of my other ones before this one couldn't take the pressure and would crack. I have had this one for about 10 years now, and it's great! Oh yeah, and it comes with a handy little clean out tool.
