This companion to DICEY'S SONG focuses on Dicey's friend, Jeff Greene. Jeff has learned to adapt to the fact that his mother abandoned him and his father years ago, so he is surprised when she suddenly invites him to visit her. Jeff is delighted to discover that his mother is very different from his remote, perfectionist father. Unfortunately, Jeff's burgeoning relationship with her widens the gap that already exists between him and his father. A 1984 Newbery Honor Book.
