I LOVE the Shea Moisture products! This Balancing Conditioner works VERY well with the Deep Cleansing Shampoo. The FIRST time that I used it I was like in heaven. I suffer from itchy scalp and after using this with the shampoo it has begun to get a lot better. I like to leave this on for about 10 minutes after shampooing. Also, I put a little extra on and use a wide tooth comb to comb through. It DETANGLES and MOISTURIZES really well. One small drawback-it smells like plantain, because that is one of the ingredients. Plaintain smells like banannas to me. So, it made my hungry. :)
This conditioner smells great and leaves my TWA moisturized and soft. I co-wash with this every other day and it works great to remove some of the product build up in my hair. I also use it normally after washing with the matching shampoo and I also use it to deep condition with a shower cap.
My daughter has psoriasis of the scalp, and has found this and the shampooo to be better than the expensive prescription shampoos/conditioners prescribed by her dermatologist! Also has very tight curly thick hair.

I am mixed-race & have combination wavy fine hair & kinky frizzy patches. I've tried everything from the very cheap to extremely expensive. I'm done looking--this is the stuff for me! I can't believe how well this works together with the shampoo. I still use a leave-in but feel better about it now, as this doesn't weigh down or leave residue in my hair.

I use Shea Moisture's Coconut and Hibiscus line, but until recently they didn't have a rinse-out conditioner and so I was using this. I'm African American and transitioning to natural hair. I have about 6 months of new growth and my natural hair is tightly coiled. My relaxed hair is fine and straight. I LOVE this conditioner on both parts of my transitioning hair. I don't really have an itchy scalp or dandruff problems, but I feel like this conditioner is amazingly moisturizing and softenin g. It adds a lot of slip to my hair for easy detangling. In some ways, it makes the curly roots easier to get through than the relaxed ends, which are prone to tangling! And I love the way it smells. I also rely on SM and the sister company, Nubian Heritage, because their products are all-natural without being astronomically expensive.
I used it with the matching shampoo and it didn't moisturize my 3b/3c poofy hair enough. I needed another conditioner or my hair would be dry before I was out of the shower to put leave-in on. I was disappointed.
I usually use another all natural brand shampoo & conditioner on my daughter's hair, but she was all out of her conditioner [...] so while @ my local Target, I picked up this product, that I c all the time & thought "y not?".....Can, I say that I am sooooo pleasantly surpirised & in love w/ this conditioner! My daughter suffers from itchy & dry scalp, the SheaMoisture African Black Conditioner after just 1 use had made such a difference & her hair is so soft! I sti ll have a 1/2 bottle of shampoo left from the other brand, but I'm thinking if the conditioner works this well, I might as well use the shampoo also. [...]

I use this conditioner with the balancing shampoo. I loved them both. I put this in my hair, combed it through (with EASE in my 4b hair) and let it sit for a few minutes as I washed in the shower. After rinsing, my hair still felt amazingly soft and smelled pretty good too. I think I have fallen in love with this line of products!
