Like the other volumes in the series, Air Mail Music: Israel is packed with top-notch, traditional folk-oriented music from its geographical area of focus, performed by unnamed local musicians. Also like the other volumes, Israel is woefully deficient on annotation -- the liner notes supply virtually no information not only on the musicians, but on the dates and locations of recording as well. That's a shame, because otherwise, this is a very good sampler, from a strictly musical standpoint; both the playing and the selection of Jewish folk songs are stellar. Steve Huey, Rovi
