we have gone through 3 of these, they have never fallen apart for us..the string at the end has come off but I expect that. Husband loves this thing, it has a rough scrub to it that he likes. It lasts a good while & is priced fine.
I didn't try to use it in a tub setting. I only use it once a week in a stand up style shower to scrub my feet and hang it to dry. I do replace it for shower use around every four months or so and then it becomes a scrubber for other things like floors. I've never had it sitting in water for any length of time. I've dropped it often and it has held together for me.

I bought this brush yesterday, used it last night it worked fine. Went to use it today and the whole brush fell apart pieces of glass and bristles was all in the tub. Do not buy this brush looks are deceiving. It was a waste of money.
