This is a great product, especially if you want to make a lot of cake pops and quickly! I made my cake pops using box yellow cake mix and it could not have been easier. The key to this is using a squeeze bottle, like one used for condiments... I got one at target in the baking section... to fill the bottom spheres quickly and neatly which allows for even baking. Keeping each half sphere, top and bottom, wiped down with oil between each batch helps too! Bottom line, great product! Highly recomme nd!

I used a traditional box cake mix Red Velvet. The Bella maker itself appeared of decent quality. The non-stick coating combined with generous sprays of cooking oil made removal a cinch. The connection between the top and bottom is a bit wobbly which makes me wonder how long it will last. I followed the directions in the book for filling and baking and they were a little off. The first batch I overfilled the holes so they came out looking like little Saturns. I also discovered that it was difficult to fill them without overfilling, and quickly enough without spillage. The instructions also said to cook for 5-6 minutes and that was too long. I had a better outcome at about 4 minutes. I just used a fork to lift the side and they came out fine. My Halloween cake pops did not turn out as I had hoped, but it was due to an error on my part with the frosting, the cake balls themselves came out perfectly with the routine above. The Bella cake pop maker is a definite winner! The author of this review received a free sample of the product.

This product is fun to use, but it takes a little practice. It took me several batches before I got the cake ball shape I wanted. I did have an issue with overflow. If I added too little, the shape would not be good. If I added too much, it overflowed the ball cups. I found that it was better to have a little overflow and remove the extra once cool than to risk the ball not forming correctly. The instructions say to oil each cup prior to filling. Be very careful with this - only the tiniest bit of oil is needed, too much will result in an unnaturaly oily taste. That being said, it is quick and fun to use once you get the hang of it. I love the idea that I can make easily make cake pops for parties and events. The results look amazing - no one needs to know how easy it was! I was excited to use this to make pops for my sons football team. Once your batter is ready, you need to fill the pockets quickly because they pops start to rise and overflow. The first round, most came out ok, there was alot of overflow but if you let the pops cool some after you remove them you can remove some of the edges. The next round, I worked quicker and had better results. Still had a few with overflow issues and a few that didn't completely rise on one side. The instructions reco mmended cooking 5-6 minutes and I found that 5 was fine for the mix I was using, you may have to play some to find cooking times for other mix types. I also realized that once I dip them in the chocolate, the flatter sides and imperfections will be irrelevant, especially to a group of 8 and 9 year old boys! Overall, I will definately be using the machine again, next time, brownies! The author of this review received a free sample of the product.

It took two batches of dough to get use to the cook time and how much dough to actually fill each hole. I used a recipe from the book and those turned out terrible. The dough did not remind me of donuts at all. It tasted like a heavy cake, not light at all. My second batch I used a recipe I found online that had baking powder and those turned out good. Make sure you read the directions thoroughly. For the first minutes of cooking, you just close the lid, do not lock it. You then lock the lid during the last minute or so of cooking. I let the children cover the balls in powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar. They had a great time! They thought the donut holes were delicious! I think this is a healthy option to frying donuts and taste good. Making donut holes at home is a much cheaper and a healthier option than the store bought ones.

We bought this Cake Pop Maker on sale at our target. HORRIBLE!!!! We used Funfetti Cake mix from Pillsbury. We baked them for 5-6 min. Like The info manual instructed. When we took them out, They were burnt, 1/2 a sphere, and most of all, they tasted so weird after the 3rd batch!!!!! And while it was cooking the lid kept on popping up and down and scared me half to death!!!! the only good thing was that it was on sale, and I am writing this review right after we tried it. I am returning it as soon as I get a chance. None of these reviews are against Target. I think the manufacturer should be ashamed.

My seven year old son and I had lots of fun with the Bella Cakepop Maker. First, it takes a few practice runs to learn how much batter to put into each holder. After refilling it the second time I think we got the hang of it. The product appears very durable and well made. I really liked the size of the small cake pops it made. They became a nice small size for a tasty dessert. We tried making red velvet cake pops and they were yummy. We also made some brownies and they were a huge hit. I really recommend this as something fun to do with the kids.

I origianlly bought this for another project and did not care that they were only 1/2 a sphere. However I was excited to start making cake pops so easily, but was a bit disappointed after I tried it. I didn't get round balls like was supposed to and see in all the pictures. I used a cake mix and they didn't seem to raise. Buying it on sale made it a bit easier. I do like that it has 12 holders, although I only made 6 at a time because it was so hot the cake was cooking before I got them a ll filled. Also the directions said to cook for 5-6 mins. They only needed to cook for 1-2 mins.

The machine seems to be well made and sturdy. The non stick coating is great, easy clean up. The handle will get hot, so use a potholder. When making the pops we use good quality baking mixes they come out perfectly round, enough of a crust on the outside to decorate and still dense and moist inside. Used a holiday mix once and it wasn't dense enough for good pops. Chill batter between batches. Fill the molds quickly or the first ones will start overflowing before you have finished a nd closed the lid. I use a liquid measuring cup for thinner batter and two spoons if thicker. The kids love it and are planning to use it when friends are over, to take pops to school parties, and to scarf as many of them as they can while still hot from the machine! I got this for a Christmas gift and was a little skeptical if it would work. I read the reviews to know if there were any glitches. Yes, it gets hot fast and yes, sometimes they don't turn out the way you want. I put the cake mix in a squeeze bottle to make filling in the holes easier. After making a few batches I believe any cooking error is mostly due to the "baker". I'm glad I didn't return it because now I can make a lot of goodies for special occasions. This is definitely the gif t that keeps on giving! So. Worth. IT!
