I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend and he loves it!! I got this one because he drinks a lot of bottle water, but now he can fill up his glass or empty bottle, saves lots of money :) Take a large cup and refill the dispenser for easy filling. Very good choice!!
I loved (past tense) my Ultramax. I have had it for about a year and decided that I needed to clean the tank because I am starting to see mold. Unfortunately, after hours of trying really hard and as my hands and fingers are in pain, I realize that the water reservoir (white part that holds your tap water) is impossible to take out. Brita seems to think that customers do not have the need to clean the tank. I am not sure what the reason is behind the tightly sealed water reservoir and the tank, but I am sure it is a design beyond stupidity.
I have had a Brita pitcher for almost 15 years and loved it until it cracked. I wanted something with a larger capacity so I bought this one. I was so disappointed because the chlorine was still in my water. I know the filter is the same for all Britas so the only thing I can think of is that the water flows through the filter too fast to get everything it should.The size, capacity, and ease of filling are plusses but don't overcome the taste
This product is impossible to take apart to clean. Did love the product until we tried to clean it. Then we decided it wasn't so great.
Great product. We've been using about a month now and are very happy that we purchased this dispenser. Fits well on fridge shelf, always have good tasting cold water available.
I bought this for my mother, who just moved into senior apartments. The water there is so bad, you can't drink it. Even the coffee is bad. She set the dispenser right next to the sink and fills it up everyday. She loves her coffee again. One Happy Mama!
The filter works like any other brita, you pour it in and it drains into the tank below, so the filtration function is the same, you just get much more capacity, which is great. The picture of the port cover in the top where you pour the water in shows it to be flat and flush with the lid for the upper tank. The actual lid is recessed a half-inch or so with only the center 1/2 inch flush with the lid. So when you pour the full gallon or so the upper tank hold into it, you have to wait or the po rt cover floats on the water surface. The port cover also has rectangular slots cut in it that would allow dust to get in. Still, it does what it is advertised and I use it for a group at work, so more than twice the capacity helps a lot.
We accidentally dropped our old Brita and broke and so we tried to find a new one. We couldn't until we visited Target.com. The new Brita is easier to fill and water flows better due to the design improvements. Love it!
I was actually never a true believer in these water filter gadgets. But after moving into a new apartment, I was never happy with the taste of the water and got tired of spending money on bottled water. I looked up a few dispensers and decided on this one. When it finally arrived, I actually thought it was going to a bit bigger than it was. Not a big problem. I soaked the filter and got it ready to use and placed it in the refrigerator. I have to say I am very pleased with it. It made the horri ble tasting water in my apt taste 100% better! Since I got it, I find myself drinking more water than I have been. I have been trying to cut back on my soda intake, and this has definitely helped. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone wanting better tasting water in a very cool dispenser!
