Loosely based on "Cinderella," this story is set in Texas, the fairy godmother is a cow, and the hero, named Bubba, is the stepson of a wicked rancher
In this male version of Cinderella set in Texas, Bubba works on a ranch run by his wicked stepdaddy and his cruel stepbrothers, Dwayne and Milton. When Miz Lurleen, the prettiest rancher in Texas, throws a hoedown to find herself "a real feller," Dwayne and Milton refuse to let Bubba go with them because he "smells more like cattle than the cattle do." Luckily, Bubba has a fairy godcow who cleans up his act and turns him into the cowboy prince of Miss Lurleen's dreams. Illustrated with acrylic paintings.
