I get thirsty and i'm not into warm water. I bought the 16 oz. mug and used it for about 2 years. Loved it so much I bought the 20 oz. so I could carry more water. I don't know if it's different if you carry coffee in it, but i have had absolutely no problems with this product. No leaking. No problems with the drinking hole. I fill it halfway with ice and then water. I take it everywhere I go. I fill it at night and put it on my nightstand and have cold water in the morning to take my sy nthroid. If I am going on a longer journey somewhere, I take a bottled water so that I can refill my mug if I run out of water. when I remember, I put the top in the dishwasher as per the instructions and handwash the bottom. I absolutely recommend any of the Contigo products.
I just got this mug last week but let me tell you, this mug holds heat for at least 4 hours, I tested it the other day. I made tea at 1230 and didn't drink it till 430 and it was still HOT, I also filled it at 5 and didn't drink it till 730ish and it was still steaming. I would recommend this to anyone who likes hot tea or coffee. I haven't tested it yet with cold but I'm sure if it keeps heat like it does, it must keep the cold cold as well.

This is by far better than all of the travel mugs I have used. I have been buying a variety of stainless steel mugs, as i am kind of a fan of these for travel and work. This mugs is by far superior than all others i have purchased. Keeps coffee hot for hours. Also keeps ice cold drinks freezing cold for hours. Expensive, but worth it.
